OH HAI. It's been quite a while since I wrote one of these posts, and nothing could make me happier right now than to be doing so. Actually, scratch that. If Hatsune Miku suddenly materialized in my lap, holding a slurpee and the keys to a shiny new Impreza, that would make me happier. But only a little.
Anyway, we're back! This week's show will be all about the things we missed while we were away, including a few exciting announcements regarding the world of retro. It's also about how much we love you and have missed you. The time has come. Let there be puppy pics and mayhem.

Okay, by now everyone had heard about Chrono Trigger DS and everyone is excited and all that lovely stuff. How much potential for nerd rage is there in this? I've heard a lot of complaints about Final Fantasy 4 DS from people you have not even played it yet. If Chrono Trigger ends up taking a step in this direction, will there be a huge outcry of shattered nerd dreams?
Also, how cool does Mega Man 9 sound?

What are each of you guys most and least favorite Mega Man games? I'm guessing everyone will yell "Mega Man 2, for great justice!"
Mine is Mega Man 4.Bright Man is the greatest looking of all the robot masters. Even Junk Man who is basically a pile of junk doesn't compare to a guy with a giant flashbulb for a face.

With regards to the splooge of excitement that MegaMan 9 has caused, do you believe that most retro games would benefit from going completely to their roots? What other games would you like to see return to their original forms -- not just original styles like New Super Mario Bros. -- but completely retro forms (for example, a new Mario game that's 8Bit or a new 16bit Sonic).

So everyone's discussing the graphics of MegaMan 9, but how about that kick ass music!?
Who has the best tan/smallest tan lines?
I was thinking the same thing you were and that scares the shit out of me.
I've been torn about the Mega Man 9 announcement. I'm excited because we haven't seen a proper Mega Man game in years (though many including my fiancee would argue the X series is just as important and I tend to agree), but I'm a little disappointed. At first it was because it was in 8-bit. Don't get me wrong, I love my retro. At the same time I thought Mega Man 9 would have looked great in the style of Mega Man Powered Up. It has also been documented that Inafune wanted the Mega Man games to look like Powered Up did but the technology wasn't there. So if he's working on the game, why would he go back to a style he wasn't crazy about? On the other hand I heard the old sound effects of Mega Man's jumping and shooting from Mega Man 1 and 2 (they changed the sounds in 3-6) and I got all happy.
But here is the other part of my quandry: the level's they've shown off look too much like levels from previous games. Even the bosses aren't that creative. Another fire boss? Another water boss? Come on, they couldn't come up with anything else? I looked at those screenshots and I could name a previous Mega Man title who's level look similar.
I know there is only so much they could do, but there's got to be a balance between keeping it retro and make us fans happy, and at the same time keeping it fresh, and from what I've seen I worry that won't happen. Am I being a total retro blasphemer for having doubts over this game? Since you're going to be talking about Mega Man 9, I'd appreciate if you get the chance to talk about some of my concerns.
Also, have you heard about the rumors of DLC in Mega Man 9? That could be really interesting!

If Retroforcego! was a Phoenix Write style court drama, what roles do you think you all would play? I imagine that Collete be the humorous Defense Attorney, Chad would be the happy, energetic defense aid, Topher would be the embittered prosecutor with a dark past, Dyson would be the down on his luck detective who lives off of instant noodles, and Rev would be the evil mastermind who has been manipulating everyone all along.
And lastly, does it make me a terrible person if I'm more excited for Mother 3's fan translation being 85% complete, Captain Rainbow, Miles Edgeworth Perfect Prosecutor and the upcoming Arrested Development movie than Diablo 3, Megaman 9 and Chrono Trigger DS?

Well i would like to give you my copy of earthbound and other games that you may keep, give (free or for contests) or other use...
Please note that i HAVE NOT PLAYED these game in quite some time since i don't have a SNES anymore. So the game data/save batteries are a unknown factor. So they may/may not need a battery >_>

Is it just me, or does WALL-E Look like R.O.B.? Your thoughts and how do you think the movie would have been different if it featured ROB and the human were replaced with video game characters? Except they'd be incredibly obese in keeping with the movie.
