I've never been the biggest fan of Contra and while I love you guys (I know the preceding statements seem to be contradictory) I gotta say I prefer Metal Slug and Gunstar to Contra.

What are your favorite portable games from the original gameboy? What are some amazing gems from it that fell throgh the cracks? (like donkey kong ninety four and mole mania)


Why do you guys hate on SNK fighters so much? (BTW king of fighters IS the fusion franchise)

Have you guys played Ganbare Goemon II (Wasn't released in the states). In my opinion it was way better than Mystical ninja 1 or the N64 games.

I never got to play Contra as a kid. I know, it sucks, because I live in fucking Australia, and my manly men were goddamn robots named Probotector. Which made playing the game sound like a trip to the doctor's with a rubber fucking glove, ie NOT FUN.

That said, Alien Wars is one of the greatest games of all time, and Contra 4 renewed my faith in the DS as a suitable platform.

Now if we could just get another old school side scrolling platforming Ninja Gaiden...

Also, about ep42. 42 is a special number for nerds, given that it's The Answer, so it would be fitting if you guys could do another one of those shows where you just answer whatever the hell we feel like asking. No plot, no character development, just random comments and bullshit about when gaming was actually fun.

I'm sure I'm not the only one who wants another free-for-all episode.

Back in the day, I only ever played Super Contra, but it was still pretty awesome. I remember playing it all day with a friend and that it was, as Chad would put it: "AMAAAAZZZINNNG!!" But that's the extent of my knowledge.

But additionally: Does Topher know there's a very retro, old-school 2-D SHMUP(!) thrown into the middle of the craziness that is No More Heroes? I figured he might be interested in that.
