RetroforceGO! not recording tonight! Blame Prop 8-BIT! photo

Some of you may not know yet, but a proposition just passed in California this past Tuesday banning all people from discussing retro videogames on podcasts of any kind. The actual proposition -- titled Prop 8-BIT -- read something like this, and I am paraphrasing here:

Prop 8-BIT: RETRO FANS ARE STUPID! STOP TALKING ABOUT OLD GAMES WITH STUPID GRAPHICS! XBOX IS THE TITS!

Conspiracy theorists like me believe this discriminating proposition passed due to the strong financial support of the numerous amounts of hardcore Halo and FPS fans around the state. I could have sworn I saw an 18-year old kid with a Master Chief sweatshirt flash me an evil grin at the polling place.

Okay, you got me. Obviously I am kidding about all of this. There is no Prop 8-BIT. In reality, the four of us just simply can’t record tonight -- next week everything will be back to normal.

But look at this post as a warning of what could happen if us retro fans don’t keep our eyes and ears open on what is happening around us. Halo fans are a shifty group with deep pockets and black souls! If something like this ever happens we need to be prepared to fight! RISE UP RETRO FANS AND MARCH WITH ME!

As a 15 year old gamer, I am so glad that I found this podcast cuz u no liek retrogames r liek amazing and I have since converted a few of my friends to the Church of Retromazing. All hail 8-bit!

Oh, and one more thing, what 8-bit games have not yet been one-uped by newer games? Megaman is an obvious (not counting Megaman 9) and Metal Storm still reigns supreme above all others.

I don't know about anyone else, but I consider Wolfenstein to be pretty damn retro. It came out in the same year as Link to the Past and a shitload of other games that are considered retro.

Prop 8 was such a disaster. I don't think my anger's gonna settle over this one for a long time. They might have well taken away 8-bit videogames while they were at it, selfish bastards.
