RetroforceGO! Episode X: The Muppets photo

Happy Friday, listeners! Since the rest of the cast was away this week, Chad and I decided that, rather than skip the show altogether, we'd just record our own episode about whatever the hell we wanted. What we wanted was an episode about the Muppets. Not Muppets games, not videogames that the Muppets could possibly star in, just a show about the f*cking Muppets. So that's what we did.

Anthony Burch joined us for the second half, because he is wise and also loves the Muppets. So much for our promise of less mayhem this week. Oh well. As always, you can check us out on iTunes, or get the new episode right here. We'll be back next week, maybe with less mayhem. I don't feel comfortable making that promise anymore. Enjoy!

It's weird that there were only 4-5 seasons each of the Muppets and Fraggle Rock. It seemed like so much more when I was little.

My wife and I love the Fraggles so much we named our dog Mokey (she wouldn't allow us to name her Boober for some reason), but Wembley would have been more appropriate.

and it's DOOZERS (dew-zers) not dozers

Don't forget there was Labyrinth, Fraggle Rock, and The Dark Crystal. Eventhough its not part of the show. There was also Muppet cartoon in the 80s. The Grumpy men in that photo are funny. Alice Cooper and The Muppets http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fHr6GbWPBVQ&feature=related

I love Ludo from Labyrinth, just for the line "SMELL BAD". Also does David Bowie's crotch count as a muppet? That might be my second favorite.

...and how can some of you not love the Muppets, what's wrong with you? :P

Ever since they mentioned on the show that they should. I was so excited (like with the Disney sing-along) that there was an off chance our favorite 30-ish gamers would do this as well.

Sure, we would have loved the full crüe, but this is so full of win.

I hate that I missed this. There's a Henson workshop going on here in Atlanta through September at the Center for Puppetry Arts. An old customer of mine used to work for Henson and gave me some pretty cool Dark Crystal stuff. I love that The Muppet Show is on DVD so I can now impart the awesomeness of Henson on my chirruns. You guys are super.

Rad show guys. Always loved the Muppets, and you were all spot-on with the greatness of Rolf. On top of the chill personality, he's apparently pretty much the original Muppet too.

Turning the retro focus away from gaming for a change was an interesting experiment, and I think you guys succeeded with it. I wouldn't want RetroforceGo! to give up on games entirely, but I'd be totally down with a semi-regular RetroforceGo! spinoff (RetroforceGaiden?) that examined other facets of retrogeek nostalgia beyond video games. Movies, old cartoons, comics, weird old anime, any of that stuff. It'd be a treat to hear you guys go off on a wider spectrum of pop culture more often.

But maybe I'm just a sucker for you guys and just want more content. Either way. :)
