Oh, you think YOUR Valentine's Day sucks!? My girlfriend and I have our anniversary the day before (today)!! So I have to go spend a ton of money and then do it again the night afterward! I love doing it for her, but it's not easy, that's for sure.

Dating sim games?

I've played a few of those. In one the guy saved a girl from being raped, only to rape her himself. Another one had the guy turn into a girl, then both rape and be raped by both men and women.

At the risk of being called ignorant, doesn't dating sim basically equal hentai? :p

Hey ScottyG: believe it or not, there's some dating sims in English which are NOT porn. Start with the following: 1) Nummyz Flash games at http://nummyz.com/games.html 2) The Renai Games archive at http://www.renai.us I recommend Elven Relations, and Heart of Fire. 3) The fan translated doujin visual novels at http://www.insani.org Start with A Midsummer Day Resonance, or The Poor Little Bird -- they will stun you.

Since I am a crazy shoujo manga fan, I also recommend the DS games Princess Debut and Rhapsody. Very girly, but that is why I like them. If you like them too, you will be ready for the My Neoromance forums, and the world of otome games.

I take it you played one of the X-change games? I did too, but I do not recommend the series to anyone. The way the translation team keeps promoting them is one reason why we can't have nice things.

@ScottyG- most of the dating sims that are widely known are hentai ones. There are the obscure ones that aren't in the hentai genre.
