  • Civil unrest in Denver
  • Scrappy Doo
  • Nintendo Power!
  • EGM!
  • Gamepro!
  • Other stuff!
Check us out right here, or subscribe to us on iTunes to get the show super early. Also, check out our new official RFGO forum, where you can meet other listeners and talk about pancakes. Or games, whatever. See you next week.

I could swear Niero posted his published envelope art at one point. I seem to recall him mentioning it at least.

New fan and listener here!

You guys were mentioning the NES achievers score list you found in the back of Nintendo Power and it reminded me of a video I saw online a while back:

http://www.pandasmash.com/video.php?epi_id=158

Apparently Kevin Federline was a champion at Pro Wrestling beating Great Puma.

Yes, THAT K-Fed.

Oh and who can forget Hsu and Chan comics in EGM?!!?

heart you guys!!!

@Topher Cantler: They are my favorite band of all time. Milo Goes To College and Everything Sucks are soooooo good.

Hey, it's cool that I got my New Gamer Dictionary word in there, but it sounds like Rev Anthony didn't send my explanation!

I called it ChokePoints:

Because you feel like strangling someone, as well as the actual term referring to a possible ambush spot in a military campaign or something.

Cool... Very nice!
Man, I still have almost all of my video game mag collection from the 90's, including Nintendo Power, EGM and GamePro! I'm talking boxes full of them... So heavy!
=)
I still have the very first issues of GamePro, N Power and EGM! Been meaning to fish 'em out and thumb through 'em!

I think one of the most iconic art pieces for me was a Metroid one with Kraid behind Samus on the back of one of the magazines. Good stuff.

Since every time you guys read my questions, you always mention that you're not sure if I'm a man or a woman, I'll let you know that I'm a he.

That is all. ;-)

Hey guys, thanks for mentioning me on the Podcast, it made my day. I should have also mentioned the Super Power Club cards. I am STILL trying to finish out my set after all these years. Can you believe it?

I own an almost-perfect collection of the set of cards, as I am only missing a SINGLE card: #165, Dragon View. If anyone has this card I am EXTREMELY willing to purchase it from you!

Hm... maybe I should post this up on the forums...

P.S. The Twisted Metal getting EGM's GOY in 95 makes NO sense... both Chrono Trigger AND Yoshi's Island came out that year!

I`m late listening, but, yipee, i won the reader question! I asked that question because I also aspired to get into games journalism, inspired by a handful of the UK writers circa 92 - 95, one of whom went on to be the editor of Edge, and continues to be to this day.

Whatever it was that inspired or led you guys to end up here at dtoid, dishing out retro gaming joy, im very glad :)
