Happy Friday, listeners. It’s been a pretty crummy week, and today’s LBP news certainly isn’t helping matters. What you need now is a nice warm cup of RetroforceGO! to soothe your achy soul. It’s full of vitamin win, without all the MSG. It’s also been clinically proven to  increase handsomeness and help put panda bears in the mood to do the nasty, and we all know how the world needs more pandas. Check the label:

  • Big news! Wear us, get some
  • OMG new segment!
  • Statutory rape
  • Bukkake
  • Flammy drums
  • Chad’s long lost brother
  • For the record, I’m not actually gay, I’m just man enough not to care if you think I am.

Your recommended weekly serving can be found right here. If you subscribe to us on iTunes, you’ve already had your dose about 14 hours before everyone else, and are therefore stronger than them and free to bully them at your own discretion. I'm trying to play SoM and M3 at the same time, using a ps2 controller for each game. It's like multitasking win.

Now would be a good time to have a RetroforceGO! mother\earthbound themed show

I second Miguel's idea. Humanity needs an Earthbound themed Retroforce Go! I volunteer to be a guest commentator since I've played the first Mother and my first article for Destructoid was an interview with the guy who made Mother reproductions on NES carts.

I really want a earthbound retroforce episode, but I have been wanting it so long that if it wasn't like 3 hours long and just the most amazing thing ever, I'll be so depressed XD

That's a terrible decision which game is better earthbound, secret of mana, or chrono trigger. It's like choosing which is your favorite child. you love them all equally.

Chad, is your brother's name Casey?

Also, Secret of Mana sounds like the game made for me and I can't believe it has always passed me by.

Meh, Legend had an ass load more to offer than Secret did. I CAN understand though why you guys would prefer Secret, especially because you played it first(the order for me was FFA, LOM, SOM, SD3, COM, HOM, DOM). I'll leave it vague like that because it could make for some really deep conversation later on.

Anyhow, FACT CORRECTION/ENLIGHTENMENT TIME!!!

1) Dawn Of Mana is the official Seiken Densetsu 4.

2) Legend, Children, and Heroes are world expanding spinoffs. They still bear the Seiken Densetsu name, but with the American name as a subtitle(ex: Seiken Densetsu: Legend of Mana).

3) Koichi Ishii(the man who created/directed all the games in the series) stated that he wanted each iteration of the series to be different from each other. In short, they're not trying to reinvent the wheel with each new Mana game, they're just trying new things to keep the series fresh.

4) You could kill any town person in Final Fantasy Adventure if you hit them enough. When they die, they spout their line one last time.(this feature was sadly removed from the remake)

5) The little creatures you collect to cast magic in all the games are called "Mana Spirits".

6) Legend of Mana was made by the Saga Frontier team using a retooled SF engine.

7) (just learned this)After the World of Mana games(Dawn, Children, and Heroes) tanked(might have been more to it;don't know the whole story), Koichi Ishii left Square. So no new Mana games...but maybe its for the best, huh?

---------------

It was a good episode that stirred a lot of memories of both Final Fantasy Adventure(which I'm sure will make Colette cry, at the very least, once), Secret of Mana, and Seiken Densetsu 3(yay fan translation). I enjoyed it and look forward to the next episode.

You forgot the most important one: Sword of Mana was a raping of the original game (Final Fantasy Adventure in the US, Mystic Quest in Europe, and Final Fantasy Gaiden: Seiken Densetsu in Japan). They screwed with the game so much trying to add in stuff from later games in the series that they removed all the things that made the original my favorite game. At least they didn't fucked up the music though, Kenji Ito is amazing with his soundtracks.
