Happy Friday, listeners, and welcome to another episode of RetroforceGO! We tried to do an episode on Disney games this week, but it mutated into something more akin to uh ... kind of a ...
Okay, look. This episode is mostly just us singing, alright? We tried. We really did. You put four nerds (who happen to have some pipes) together and ask them to talk Disney, the whole thing is destined to be horribly derailed into a fiery apocalypse of lyric and melody. I don't write the rules, that's just the way science works. Anyway, highlights:
- The mystery behind Dyson's absence (Spoiler: it's not all that fascinating)
- Oily men, a Disney episode: coincidence?
- Summer has officially ended
- There's a bee inside
- David Jaffe + Mickey Mouse= <3
- Aladdin songs
- Dumbo songs
- Beauty and the Beast songs
- Robin Hood songs
- Lady and the Tramp songs
- No, really, it's pretty much all singing
It is our sincere hope that you will forgive us for completely abandoning our responsibilities as gaming podcasters this week in favor of belting out musical numbers from cartoons. Chances are you'd have done the same yourself in such a situation. Either way, you can
download our brilliant opus right here, and let it prepare you for next week's show, which will also have a little something to do with music. Wink wink.

So sorry for not mentioning castle of illusion better. My brain farted and I just was super excited to sing disney songs.
Has it's ups and downs
Sometimes ups
Outnumber the downs
But not in Nottingham."
Chad if you would sing "Oodelalee Oodelalee Golly What a Day"
I will soar into the heavens and explode into 1,000,000 gold dubloons and rain down on the earth.

Release a CD.
P.S. When this 59.5 episode comes out, it is hasn't always, I will be spending so much time going through piano reductions and instrumental mp3s on my computer to set the singing to background melodies and harmonies. :)

I have only done this once.
I love you all!
mickey's magical quest was way better and was made by capcom.
i also notice a lot of games mentioned in the top 10 arent capcom disney games , not that does matter :-)
and i agree geiv dyson back miss him.
Also, no Lilo & Stitch or Peter Pan...? Aww :(
If I had a RetroForce GO time machine I'd go back and do the viral clap-to-standing-ovation at Chad's audition.
Aniki is japanese semi slangish for big brother.
Cho aniki is the first game in the series, it came out on the PC engine too i imported it for my usa turbo duo (it the TG16 cd's have no region lock) "Super Big Brothers" as cho iimples super.
Ai Cho aniki is the secound game translates to "Love Super Big Brothers". or love the super big brothers."
This love super big bros extetnion title stops dropping the "AI" after that I imported as these games are insane and I must have them all the one for the ps2 with the ultimate game name.
Cho aniki Seinaru Protein Densetsu.
(super big brothers Legend of the Holy Protein).
Densetsu seen in many japnese titles meaning a legend. AKA Seiken Densetsu (secret of mana called legend of holy sword in japan) ETC ETC
the main characters are also named after gay japanese porno mags.
the cho aniki games are so wrong I love the cho aniki series and imported them all you should too.
the most disturbing of them all is the 32-bit game where they used super imposed real humans as game sprites like mortal kombat.
Seriously, you guys... Thanks. I wish we could hang out.

I'm not a huge fan of Disney, but I liked several of the games. Chip & Dale on NES as well as Aladdin and Castle of Illusion for the Genesis were pretty sweet. I didn't ever get into Ducktales or Talespin... I was in my pre-teens and felt these shows were aimed at younger kids and never took the time. Maybe I'll go back and give them a shot.
I can't say I cared at all for The Lion King, Toy Story, Jungle Book or many of the other 16-bit titles. My memory is that the animation seemed forced over a fairly generic platforming engine, but to be honest it may have been that I had little interest in the movies/games or that the games were too difficult for me - haha! Also, I would have probably loved Mickey Mania had it not been for those god-aweful loading times!
Even before it was mentioned on the podcast, I have thought Robin Hood would make an excellent game. I can imagine having loads of fun shooting arrows at the sherriff and his men, chases through the forest, or even stealing Prince John's gold while he is sleeping in the castle - all, of course, while on a quest to find and elope with Maid Marian.
I can't remember any of the characters in Gummie Bears, but I do remember a time when I enjoyed the show quite a lot. I think the show could be tied into a nice game, but I'm not sure it would have the following as some of the other more popular names... perhaps more of an cult crowd.
Cheers to a great episode... I'm downloading some of the archived works and hoping it is as fun to listen to!
