     RetroforceGO!

Hell yeah, Friday! I thought to help you celebrate, I'd drop you the new episode of RetroforceGO! a little early this week. Just because. Highlights?

  • Awesome Goemon rock intro by Coffeesash!
  • Instroducing Masaru Irie as Secret Asian Man
  • I find your lack of chocobos disturbing.
  • Anthony shows up after all
  • From unbearably cute to dumb haircut in 2.5 seconds
  • The PSN, she's not so bad, eh?
  • Knifing
  • Forking
  • Giant robots with big, dumb smiles
Enough of that, we've got some nonsense to help the rest of your day go speedily by so you can enjoy your weekend sooner, and you can get it right here. See you next week!

Couple things:

Pronunciation. I always say Go mon. Mystical Ninja works too. I know you guys briefly touched on that in your almost discussion a few weeks ago, but it bears repeating since I don't think I'll ever say it correctly. Darn moon language.

If you die on the game over screen you'll notice dancing nearly-naked devil men. Why is that ALWAYS funny?

I always assume Goemon's using some sort of ancient Japanese opium pipe to beat people. Am I the only one who makes such an assumptio1?

The Super Nintendo Goemon 3 & 4 need translations. Part 2 is pretty playable without a translation, but 3 & 4 NEED a translation. Especially the third one since its trying to be like Zelda. Levels in the fourth one are playable, but at a certain point you need to read stuff and I can't read moon language.

Goemon's Great Adventure on N64 is probably the best. Goemon 2 has a lot of awesomeness on the super nintendo, but its all in Japanese whereas the N64 one got an English release.

What do you think of the names Kid Ying and Dr Yang from the english translation of the first super nintendo Goemon, "legend of the mystical ninja."

Which one of Dr. Yang's (aka Ebisumaru aka player twos blue guy) weapons are the best? Ribbons? Fans? Rings? The butt bounce? He probably has some more that I'm forgetting.

Did you know, Goemon was a historical figure?

Out of the four playable characters, Goemon, Dr Yang, Yae or Sasuke, which is your favorite?

Last Goemon question:

Any of you guys play the japan-only goemons? He is a very prolific guy, wikipedia has a list of all the games in the series. The little guy gets around, don't he?

I've probably played about six of them. The four snes ones and two on 64.

I never apologize for a wall of questions, but accept this real life picture of Goemon.

Also this kitty.

If you (not) play G(l/r)ey Lancer on your (not) Genesis emulator, the title screen in the Japanese version says "Gley Lancer".

Thanks you Chad for being the Al Sharpton of video games, finding racism where it doesn't exist.

Kinda like the E3: N08 podtoid. 90% funny reggie jokes. But I don't care. I love listening to all you editors ramble.

Everyone's a little bit racist
Sometimes.
Doesn't mean we go
Around committing hate crimes.
Look around and you will find
No one's really color blind.
Maybe it's a fact
We all should face
Everyone makes judgments
Based on race.

Everyone's a little bit racist
Today.
So, everyone's a little bit racist
Okay!
Ethinic jokes might be uncouth,
But you laugh because
They're based on truth.
Don't take them as
Personal attacks.
Everyone enjoys them -
So relax!

If we all could just admit
That we are racist a little bit,
Even though we all know
That it's wrong,
Maybe it would help us
Get along.

Everyone's a little bit racist
It's true.
But everyone is just about
As racist as you!
If we all could just admit
That we are racist a little bit,
And everyone stopped being
So PC
Maybe we could live in -
Harmony!

The haiku I wrote was referencing the gourmet submarine level from Mystical Ninja: Starring Goemon. It's the only game in the series that I've had the chance to play besides Mr. Goemon, so I just went with that I knew.

After listening to the podcast though, I'll be doing a playthrough of a few of the SNES Goemon games whenI get the chance.

Keep up the good work guys! Stella, you did awesome, I'll see you tomorrow at Comicon~<3

Chad: I'm only halfway through the podcast so I'm not sure if this gets corrected later on, but Mystical Ninja Starring Goemon on the N64 does have the robot battles and sidescrolling robot levels.

I don't know how they compare to the SNES robot battles, though, since the N64 game was my first exposure to the series.

If Goemon Wii would be like No More Heroes in terms of amount of waggle, I'd be happy. But a PS3 version would probably be best.
