You know, I've never really had a "normal" job in my life, so Mondays were never too much of a dreadful thing for me. I'm not saying that I loved Mondays, though, but they certain they weren't anything that I disliked. But lately, Mondays have become more than just the day that everyone else in the world gets up early and goes to work while I'm sleeping, they've become something I look forward to. Something, oh I don't know, kind of awesome, and I think you know why.
Highlights!
- Are you turning 40 today?
- We are not having a yardsale
- So we just chitchat for awhile
- Do you see the console that assaulted you, ma'am?
- Blast processing confused me O-o
Normally there would be a few more highlights to the show, but in honor of the topic we're trying to keep the hype to a minimum. We wouldn't anyone to get too overexcited you know, the last time that happened Nintendo sold a lot of Power Gloves ;)

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
YEAH BOYEEE!
In fact, I'd go as far as to say that Mondays get 5 out of 5 Dolphins! The only thing that could make Mondays better is if you guys extended the show to 2 hours.
So eventually...but not now. I hope you understand.
And it's funny because I just had a dyslexic moment and almost posted that backwards, that mondays make retro force better... which is not at all what I meant!
I loved the commercial discussion... awesome.
But Chad, I did watch my Dad play Twilight Princess once I'd settled down about it, and I did like it. I was just annoyed at the time.
And Dyson you reiterated my entire Twilight Princess experience.
I love you all, to all of you.
But I expect it will rainbows and puppy dogs, like it always is ^______^
+1 to the retroforce= happy mondays train

You *really* need to give your mom a hug next time you see her. She sounds like the best mom ever. If Chad ever reviewed her, she'd get 5/5 dolphins. :)
@Chad, I havent stayed up all night playing videogames in forever, is Brawl really that good??
Also, whats with all the nonretro comments in the prerecording post?? This is a retro podcast. I don't think were quite at the stage where Halo 1 counts.
WUT!?! POWER GLUV WAS THE SHIT!!!! UR JUST NOT 1337 ENOUGH TO USE IT!! LOLOLOLOL NOOOBSSS!!!!
Oh fanboyism...
Hear hear. Boo for having violent emotional attachment to a bunch of plastic and silicon.
C'mon people now, smile on your brother. Everybody get together try and loooove one another riiighhht now!
Great show once again. RFGO! Makes me excited to get up on Mondays.
In my pants.
On a more serious note, good job this week guys. I will try to get in touch asap so we can maybe work something out . Maybe you guys send me the code for some XBLA points because I still need to get some games like Triggerheart, N+, Rez, and E4. We'll be in touch

I totally remember wanting that Activator! I totally remember the commercial too, and as a kid, I SO expected that if I kicked, the character would kick too!
Looking back, I'm glad I never got it, cause I probably would have been SO disappointed :P
BTW, I took apart a Xbox Controller S and noticed that it had a similar design for how the D-Pad works to the 360 Controller. Except, well, the Controller S actually works...
Also if you'd like to know, the reason I know this is because I wanted to swap the 360 pad with the Controller S pad, now I have 2 controllers that look pretty hot!
Thankfully I was too young then to spend money on video games otherwise I totally would have been decked out with the powerglove, light gun in belt, freaking out on red laser activator goodness with the virtua-boy attached to my head with duct tape. lol

Some people loved that Gears of War / Mad World one, didn't realy do it for me, but this is the same idea but better IMO!
To the rest of the RFGO! crew: If this pad is as good as it's supposed to be, you all may be getting one. Consider it a token of my appreciation for all those shout-outs and the constant memories that you guys always bring me. Also, laughs.
Dyson, PEACE NINJA!
Where The Movie game threw marketing and bland levels at you, the Armada game was actually very solid, with a bunch of really interesting levels and well implemented controls and concepts.
I still have hope that one day, they'll blow the doors open on that franchise's game potential . . .
In my opinion, hype didn't lead to fanboyism, but the term "fanboy" was coined by gaming journalists. I'm not insinuating that the word fanboy didn't exist before game journalists, but what I'm saying is gaming journalists (*cough*EGM*cough*) basically pointed out people and started judging and labeling other gamers, and we (as the impressionable children that we are) caught onto it, and it stuck. I don't know about you guys, but I didn't start hearing the term "fanboy" until high school, and I'm 27, so it's definitely something that came about late into or after the N64/Playstation era. Before that... fanboy? Nope.
Think about that one - I'd love it if you'd to talk about this. Because the hate really needs to stop. Gamers are gamers, stop the hate folks. Keep gaming!
