RetroforceGO! Episode 36: Greatest videogame couples photo

Welcome to Monday, folks. A special kind of Monday, if you will. The kind of Monday where things are starting to feel a little, I don't know ... sexier. Blame it on the fact that Valentine's Day is just around the corner, but I'm already feeling the vibe from the all the make-out sessions that are about to happen.

A piece of advice for you V-Day hopefuls, though. Before you grab your significant other and partake in the ritual of over commercialized passion (or your D.O.A. body pillow and some shame), make sure to have this week's RFGO! playing softly in the background; it drives 'em wild. Trust me.

Highlights!

  • Colette has enough Frequent Flyer miles to buy Guam
  • Don't tell Guam
  • Would anyone like an RFGO! calender?
  • This week: XBLA > Virtual Console -- 32nd sign of the apocalypse confirmed
  • Rhymes with "linger-hang." That's all I'm sayin' here
  • Chad sings!
  • Rev swears he won't mention Half-Life even once
  • Tranny stealth genre, you heard it here first
  • Princess Peach is a negligent mother
  • 1, 2, 3, 4 ... Topher starts a flame war!
  • (Lunar rules, just wanted to mention that again)
  • Aeris piñatas. Why didn't anyone think of this sooner?

So put the iTunes on and turn the lights down low, it's time for some sexy RFGO! Get your snuggling soundtrack right over here, folks, and enjoy. We hope that you have a good week and an even greater Valentine's Day.*

*Since the lot of us will be home alone or out getting silly drunk to combat our alone-ness, we secretly hope that: You do not have a great Valentine's Day. Or, if you do, you follow it up by falling down a well.**

Sleep? This is for children and orphan children (which are like regular children, but will grow up having jail time and a strong aversion to nuns).

Hmm ... After reading that last sentence, I think sleep might be a good idea.

Lunar is amazing.
I told Colette to go pick it up as soon as possible, and she better. :]

ok I’m done.

OMG...you guys are the most incredible! I forgot I had won a contest a while ago and I went to my mailbox today (I don't check that often) and found a copy of MotoGP wrapped in newspaper AND dolphin love. I loled hard.

Just to let you guys know to keep your eyes peeled over the next few weeks...I have something I hope to be very epic in the works for you guys involving art and photoshop tom-foolery.

Also Topher, you are so full of win for giving a shout out to my band, Validus! We should be going on an east coast tour this summer...I'll keep you posted so that when we roll through that area I can buy you beers.

This is why Monday doesn't suck.

Chad, you have a beautiful voice.

Also, I watch football and I'm single and I have nothing against Halo. Is that wrong?

On the PAL version, second run on ICO and all of Yorda's lines are translated. Not only that, the second pad controls Yorda.
Great game to play with your other half on valentine's day.

In The Darkness the "achievement unlocked" killed the whole mood after staying with Jenny.

I'm gonna have to play Lunar now, I have 1 and 2 for the PS1 but I haven't finished 1.

Oh and:
F:Samus (Risk I'm willing to take)

M:Tifa (She knows how to fight and cook and serve drinks!! Shes's also great with kids.)

K:Alyx (Only choice, do you really think you could kill Tifa or Samus?)

@Chad
I hated those "don't attack to win" parts also, i would sometimes level up a ton to later on find out I didn't need to do that.

And I support your idea for a Luigi episode.

@Dyson
We could call if phone numbers where given =P.

@Scary Womanizing Pig Mask:

Well, it's obviously because Phoenix and Edgeworth are the real couple. At least, it seems that way if you search for "Gyakuten Saiban" on eBay.

I'm like halfway through, and I didn't make it to the comments in time yesterday to mention Manny Calavera and Meche from Grim Fandango.

Also, haha @ CJ and Denise. I just started playing San Andreas a couple weeks ago. "I wanna do a drive-by!"

Man, that is a tough F Marry Kill.

I would have to go with

F: Samus

M: Tifa (Man I love Tifa)

K: Alyx.

This RFG was awesome. I do have a question though.

I know editing these takes a ton of time, but I've noticed on the last couple that the volume levels on different speakers are off. Dyson and Rev are a bit harder to hear, and since I'm trying to secretly listen to RFG at work instead of working it means a lot of fiddling with the volume knob when things are quiet and then Chad erupts into an amazing song that's way louder than I thought it would be.

DAMN YOU LETHAL HAIRDOOOO!!!! *Shakes fist*

Great episode! It's too bad Colette wasn't around for some of those conversations. The finger banging talk in particular would have been even more hilarious :D.

Now without further ado...

F: Tifa

M: Alyx (There's a girl you can both take home to the parents AND take out on the town)

K: Samus. Although I agree with Dyson: if like 50 different versions of Ridley can't do it, I don't think that I'd be able to.

The F-Marry-Kill was an awesome idea Chad :D You guys should consider doing one when Colette gets back.

i commented too late again :( Next time I vow by the super nintendo that I will be one of the first to comment. Also, great show this time around guys. Chad, your singing voice is like one thousand orchestra's of dolphins playing the violin. Rev, it would have been hilarious if you had gone all out about THAT game in the final thirty seconds of the show. Topher, thank you for explaining the facts of koopa kid life to Chad. Finally, Dyson get us a calender and Colette's opinion on fingerbanging

@Aerox, Rev, for some reason, always sounds quite. My mic mic on the other hand was definitely way to low. Will fix next time.

@ Lethal, it's about time you got that game. No help from me, though. I'm pretty lazy when it comes to mailing things.

@ Phoenix, ditto what Toph said.

@Knivey, we're tinkering around with getting an 800 number. We'll keep p you posted.

And everyone, the calenders are a go and we will begin working on them as soon as we can.

Link and Zelda are an off-and-on romantic couple. It's never expressly stated in any game, but in Zelda 2: The Adventures of Link, once Zelda is rescued the curtain drops in front of them and Zelda raises her foot as though she's kissing Link.

Granted, that Zelda is hundreds of years older than Link, but I'd say that they are totally a romantic couple.

I'm marrying Naia-the-gamer, and I think the idea of pummeling an Aeris pinata would be AWESOME!!! And the idea of an Aeris cake with a big@$$ knife (or, hell, sword!) sticking out of it would be hilarious too.
