Let the controversy begin: I totally agree with Dyson's choices on his list. I've always thought that Super Mario 64 wasn't a great 3D Mario game (hated the fact that you only have like 15 worlds and each "star" is just a different approach on the same places), and my hate even grew up after Super Mario Galaxy, which shows what a really 3D Mario should have been. And being a self declared Nintendo fan, yeah... I also hated Twilight Princess. I see it as the Resident Evil 4 of Zelda games: awesome gameplay, until you realize all you are doing has no sense. And the Ganon fight was totally useless.
The Metroid Prime vote wasn' bad either. Metroid Prime 2 sucked, Metroid Prime 3 was great, but more action oriented than soft paced (the only thing that kept me until the end was the awesome controls... but all the voiceover really runed it all).
But Metroid Prime for the GC was a truly masterpiece.
At least better than all those Haloz.

Dyson is awesome for being the only person I know to publicly say they didn't like Mario 64, and I agree. The game was just too similar all throughout, at least in Super Mario Galaxy you go to different planets to complete the star, not see the same things only with a different objective.

Thanks for mentioning passage. i just played through it twice and tis a powerful and emotional game indeed. i really wish more people could see what this game is about.

Okay, I know I'm late to the party, but here goes.
My New Year's Retrolution: I want to finally finish Chrono Trigger, FFIV or FFVI. I have never finished any of them. I get bored halfway through them, then stop, then when I go to play it again, forget where I'm up to, then just say "fuck it" and start again.

My latest is with BioShock, i've started the game 3 times then get bored and forget wtf I was doing or where I was at and just start over. Same with Far Cry and replaying through Chrono Trigger and Zelda: Mask of Majora, I have a lot of fun playing through them but then just get bored and just don't go back.
Just taste I guess... I couldn't stop playing 'Naruto: Rise of a Ninja", 'Mass Effect' or 'Assassins Creed' or 'CoD4: Modern Warfare(including a lot of multiplayer achievments)' until completion. All are considered average or above by all, and by most gamers games like BioShock and ChronoTrigger are considered better games but for some reason I couldn't STOP playing those other games until completion.
Personal taste I guess.
But using BioShock as the example, I love the game but have no desire to finish it right now, I dunno.
BTW: Buy Naruto: Rise of a Ninja because it was too short and I NED MOAR.

the only list I didnt agree with was i think Rev's about storytelling in games. Assassin's Creed really amazed me in that field; Im just awe struck that it didnt make that list lol
