RetroforceGO!: Episode 13: PAX 2007: Unpleasant Burrito Experiences photo

Aaaaaaaaaaaand welcome, to another hastily written post. The reason for my lack of time, this time, is the fact that last weekend was PAX. Not one to be outdone by silly things like work or poverty, I decided that there was no way Dyson was going to miss this event.

So last Friday at midnight, after going through several cocktails and four hundred dollars, I had found myself in possession of a plane ticket to Seattle and a good buzz. Early Saturday morning found me in desperate need of sleep and aspirin, but also on my way to meet my fellow Dtoiders at Gabe and Tycho's little nerd soiree.

 Highlights!

  • Official BEST WEEK EVAR!! :) :), for real
  • Rev is online deficient
  • And rants about masturbation?
  • Wii Geometry War = Epic Fail
  • Cookies!

So make sure to listen up, folks. There was so much going on this week that we couldn't even fit it into one podcast. But what we did manage to cram in was full of win and awesome, so check it out here.

Also, special thanks to Nathan at Pink Godzilla, and Perry of Messiah Entertainment.  Thanks for everything, you guys were awesome!

There wasn't a post yesterday, so I didn't expect a podcast. You guys had me worried sick. Call if you're going to be late.

I heard Dyson is really mean. And that HushGush guy wishes he was as cool as Topher. Also, Droobies sucks balls at video game trivia.

For reals though, i wish i were not planning on sleeping on the plane tomorrow, i guess i will listen to it when i am on the pooper at some point.

Damn, I need a new mousepad, but right now, the only part of the contest I can figure out is number three.

And if you don't know the answer to number three, I feel so sorry for you

Unpleasant Burrito Experiences? I am trying to finish listening to this podcast. Keep up the good work.

zOMG! Listening now!

Guys, thanks so much for the opportunity. I had a blast on the podcast even with the technical difficulties associated with broadcasting from a motel room with bloodstains on the walls.

Dyson and Topher: You two were a big part of making PAX one of the most memorable times of my life thus far. We should drink and spring rape traps more often.

Chad and Rev: Great talking with you both during and after the podcast, we'll need to get Rev's online working so he can join the fun that is calling people dicks over Live. Chad exudes so much positive energy that I think he farts rainbows.

Dyson hates Russians in general, pizza delivering or not. Seriously, could I have been more fucking pissed at those fuckwads.

Volcannon, that is hi-larious. I wonder if that chicks avatar is a big white guy?

Yo, if you know #3, then you can figure the rest out. All the games have something in common.

Namelessted is a communist bastard who smuggles date rape drugs into the country through the Canadian border -- and then uses them on dogs.

Dyson is a cool drunk? Uh oh ...

BUT FOR REALS: I really, honestly can't tell each and everyone one of you how incredibly fucking awesome it was to meet you. All of you.

So to Charlie, Phist, Droobies, Miguel, Volcannon, Namelessted, tehuberone, Lauren, medievil, Joseph (not Jordan!), Dale North, Tristero, Droobies girlfriend, Lark, Harrison, and everyone else: You're fucking awesome.

So yes, mikeyrab, it was so, so worth it.

Psst! Dyson, Mid3vol is one and the same for the girlfriend thing, although I should probably run that title by her first.

"I don't have a girlfriend, I just know a girl who'd be really mad if she heard me say that."

Now, I'm off to work on whatever audio issue I have with Skype. Toph should be the only one with a bucket.

Is the theme this week battle themes? Unfortunately the only one I know for sure is the obvious Chrono Trigger. Oh wait. Actually I am pretty sure I remembered what the last one is too, but I'll keep that a secret. The other two are maddeningly familiar, especially the first one, because I can hear notes to the main line just starting as it cuts off.

Not that someone isn't just gonna blow out all 4 anyways by the time I'm home tommorow XD.

Ah, I thought thtat may be the case, but I didn't want to be wrong and leave someone out. Which I'm sure my booze filled brain did anyway (damn you SEGA Gameworks!).

I won't comment on any answers so far, but I'm really surprised that no one picked up on the first one right away.

The bucket is unavoidable. Do not fear the bucket.

I don't know any of this week's contest. I got lucky when I won for knowing Gunstar Heroes, and figuring the rest were Genesis games by the particular qualities of Genesis music.

Also, check the volume levels when putting those sound clips in, they were very quiet compared to your voice this week.

Not sure I agree with Rev's rant this week. Just because something is different, does not mean that it is mature. I'm not saying I don't think that we need more experimental games, but.. c'mon. Bioshock is not mature because it's an FPS and easy to play? Bioshock is to FPS what Fight Club is to the "Action" section at Blockbuster. Both genre's technically apply, but I'm sure you'll hear your fair share of arguments in defense of each when it comes to relevance and relation to their respective audiences.

Oh no wait, yes I do. Didn't remember the music though. I was hoping nobody else would remember Secret of Evermore =<

It's okay to be American. At least it's okay to call it Final Fantasy 3 in my book. It was 3 when I first bought it, so 3 it shall stay. Anyway, have you emailed us yet?

How can you forget the Chocobos!?
