Retro City Rampage will be one to watch photo

There's nothing I don't like about Retro City Rampage. Rather, there's nothing I don't like about this ridiculous advertisement for Retro City Rampage. Besides referencing Back to the Future, it has what looks to be an updated NES Zapper and also tells us we'll be able to "collect loose change from jaywalkers."

The game is -- somewhat surprisingly -- coming to WiiWare this fall. It started life as an independently developed 8-bit open-world affair cleverly called Grand Theftendo. Details are scarce at this point, but it certainly looks rad based on the tiny shots shown above.

Rest assured, we'll keep an eye out so you don't necessarily have to.

Jordan Devore is Destructoid's PC gaming manager and founding ginger editor. He is said to be easy to love but difficult to know. When Samit inquired about his curious bio photo Jordan simply replied: "bitches love sandcastles" ... yet, there is no sandcastle in that photo. We may never truly understand his ways. Wow! Grand Theftendo. There's a name I thought I'd never see again. Glad to see all that work didn't go to waste... And he'll actually see some income from it!

Looks like Motor City Patrol, a gem of a game I rented, which reminds me of GTA..

I am really interested in this. I love 8bit and 16bit games. Being the old timer I am, that is.

More devs need to do 8 and 16 bit stuff for wiiware. It's the charming, innocent heyday of gaming.

I was wondering what happened to Grand Theftendo. I'm glad it didn't die. But now we don't get our GTA IV remake. Darn.
