Retailers selling PlayStation Move early photo

PlayStation Move is officially supposed to go on sale this coming Sunday, September 19. But you might want to check your local retailers, because a few reports are spreading that it may be available in some areas now.

According to an Engadget tipster out of Benton Harbor, Michigan, a local area Best Buy is now offering the motion controller for sale. The reader sent in an image of the Sports Champions/Eye/Move bundle, which is all you'd need to start flailing around your living room in front of your PlayStation 3. We've also heard reports that some Walmart stores have begun selling the individual games, including titles like EyePet and Kung-Fu Riders.

For my impressions of the hardware and general launch title impressions, be sure to hit up my details hands-on with Move piece. Later this week, expect a "launch guide" with further impressions and suggestions to help you get the most out of the launch.

Planning on picking one up or have you already been able to at a local store? Let us know the comments.

Nice caution screen. I've seen it somewhere before but I JUST can't place it! :P

Curse you preordering! At least I get it this Friday rather than Monday, giving me a full weekend to flail around like a jackass.

I like how Sony couldn't even make a different warning screen. Ah, that's mainly a nit pick, I just need to see a good game on this thing.

What I think is hilarious is that any company has to put that kind of a warning on a game at all. If you're so fucking stupid you need someone else to tell you to be careful you don't throw your remote through your TV that's your problem. Not Nintendo or Sony's.

It's probably why MS dropped the object scanning feature from Kinect. They realised some moron would fire up Tiger Woods, scan a 3 Iron into Kinect, and then throw the club through their TV. Then they'd get blamed for not putting up a specific warning about swinging a golf club in your living room.

Haters gonna hate.

Warning screens are the product of our law suit society, something that started in America and has infected the rest of the world. We all know that you would have to be stupid to throw something at your TV, but people do it and without covering their backs with these warnings those people would try to sue the company that made whatever they threw at their TV.

If you're American, you have absolutely zero right to take the piss out of these warning screens, you and your "no such thing as an accident - where there's blame there's a claim" culture CREATED THEM!

Can anyone think of a not-like-nintendo way of presenting these warning screens? And if you can, why would you bother? It's like the move itself, like the Wii but BETTER, and what more could you want?

I'm personally pretty pissed that Move launches in "EUROPE" on the 15th, but not in the UK till the 17th. Pretty sure the UK was part of Europe last time i checked.

i'm so gonna call Gamestation on the 15th and play the "hey, i can buy move at -insert store name here- TODAY! So you guys gonna let me come pick up my pre-order?" card.

Fingers crossed.

Sony dated all the launch games for Sept. 7th, so that's why they've been on sale for almost a week now. That date even appears in Qore in the game release section.

They also said that the official date was Sept. 19th, but that some stores may have it available sooner. So this isn't really a surprise. I just wish my local stores would have it early. But they won't. They suck.

For the Move hardware, that is.

Wow, that's radical man. You should start your own political party or summin. Or maybe a religion of some kind for all the dumb fuckers out there who will do exactly that and then try and sue.

On the Kinect thing, isn't it more likely to be someone called Cletus firing their 358 into the screen during one of the on-rails shooters? The Elvis Effect I would call that.

Personally, I'm planning to fire my MG42 into the screen at 1200 rpm while I play Killzone 3 as a personal salute to the Helghast then claim it back on my home insurance.

To be fair, they did rearrange it the warning screen. and like Sexual Chocolate said, how else could they portray this very important (for Sony's bottom line) information?

here's the Wii one for comparison:

As has already been pointed out, the warning screen is there for legal reasons. It's also not identical to the Wii one -- that has someone hitting a person and a television, while Sony's has a lamp and a person. Also, the strap note is on the right side of the Sony warning, and vice versa on the Nintendo one. See? Totally different.

I'm really not sure on the best time to buy this, I know that I will sometime, but it's just a question of when this tech gets used in ways the awesome tech demo's implied it would.

@Nick Chester

plus the Wii one has an X near the picture of the guy hitting things. If I didn't know better, I would think that the move warning screen is TELLING me to hit people and lamps.

Yeah, if I couldn't read, I'd think that the Move screen was actually saying, "Look how much fun it is to hit shit with the Move!"

Yea it's obvious it's some kinda legal thing considering they're exactly the same more or less.

I would totally buy the move right now if I had the money.

Is the heavy rain move support patch already live?

For some reason, the games were not street dated for release with the move controllers. Which makes no sense to me.
Since last week, my Gamestop has had a bunch of shelf space taken up by these games that are useless until the hardware comes out.
Though I suppose there's no sense looking for logic from Gamestop.

As its been said before, the games weren't street dated (for whatever reason), so buy all you want.

The move system here in the USA (USA USA USA) is dated for the 17th. And for Sexual, naw. That card doesn't fly. Unfortunately. :( Breaking street date (here in the US at least), equates to a 5000 dollar fine for each copy sold.

I am taking bets now. How long before move is no longer supported? A year? Two? 6 months? How about Kinect? The problem with these add ons is there really isn't much incentive for the developers to support them for long, especially if they don't turn out as popular as expected.Just look at Wii Fit.

Sony should rename Move to Wii 2: Electric Boogaloo. You know, the sequel re-hash which success pales in comparison to the original.

@balloon fighter.. there are already more move games than wii motion plus games (only 2 require it, while like 5 or so support it)..I'm sure there are more games announced for move than wii fit board. I know what you mean, but I think Sonys on top of the game for move...I just hope the don't rely on it too much, I don't want uncharted 3 to be move only

I might get the move bundle. Especially with kmart doing the $25 GC I can apply to a second controller. I imagine I'll need it for the PS3 version of Deadspace.

This is a very different situation. From what a few developers have said, coding Move support into a game is very easy, and I believe Sony sends their own people in to help. Thus, there is no reason why Move should NOT see ongoing support as an alternate control scheme in 3rd party games--that is, unless it turns out to suck, and no one uses it. However, Sony has put a lot of money into this, and some of the tech demos have looked amazing, so I think Move is going to have a very real chance to succeed.
