Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
Mortal Kombat Trilogy essentially captures the best all of 3. I'd rather have that then independent versions of 1, 2, and U3....
Like I said: this is all you need.
MK:D before that was for the Gamecube
Just kidding. That's awesome, but I'm pretty sure the collection was put together as an excuse to release UMK3. Nice!
i.e. actors.
Honestly online play would get me to buy if all of them had it. UMK3 plz.
Whoa whoa whoa whoa. When, how, and, above all, WHY did 4 sneak in there? Let's get this straight: 4 is out of bounds, as are the other weakquels (see what I did thar?!) post-trilogy.
I do love that the PS3 is becoming home to HD remakes of older games.
Fighting games almost always eclipse each other with each incarnation. I mean, even though Tekken 3 was FRICKIN' AWESOME when it came out, the addition of many simple gameplay systems to recent iterations makes it feel absolutely antiquated by comparison.
For example, why in the hell would you EVER feel the need to play MK1 on a disk that contains MK2? And why the hell would you choose the play MK2 on a disk that has UMK?
It just doesn't make sense, even at a discount price.
A comp disc of Tekken 1-5 and Dark Resurrection. Include all the bonus modes and games.
@DinnertimeNinja
Not sure about that. I still feel Tekken 3 was the last good one (including Tekken Tag Tournament as it was a slightly upgraded 3)
As for this, I'd pay maybe $20, but nothing more.
(and yes, use the digitized actor footage rather than drawing new sprites or some bollocks)
This prediction is brought to you by SPRLDR, the guy who told you that Michel Ancel was working on a new Rayman game with a small studio days before the official announcement at E3. Perhaps some of you will actually believe me this time...
Yes. Yes I would. I'd love a good compilation of the original games. Hopefully it'll come out for 360 as well as PS3.
Regardless who cares, the point is to give people *options* to play what they like.
I too would like to see them put a fully remastered "arcade" rendition of MK Trilogy on the disc rather than UMK3. I really hope this pans out either way, and that it comes to the 360, too.
pffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffft
All I want is a home port of Mortal Kombat II the Arcade, complete with all the original arcade sound effects/back ground songs, a VERY EASY CPU difficulty setting that STAYS easy the whole gametower through (if I want more of a challenge I'll bump the difficulty up myself, dammit), online play, and a nice code to have unlimited Fatality time because not everyone can remember those button combinations on a whim. I would spend $39.99 on JUST THAT and be happy as a lark.
