Retail art reveals first tracks from Rock Band Unplugged photo

Retailer GameStop recently updated their listing for Rock Band Unplugged with box art. Good for them! Even better, they're all like "view back of the box," which reveals all kinds of juicy information on the PlayStation Portable title -- stuff Harmonix and MTV Games haven't talked about yet.

For one, it looks like there will be a single-player World Tour mode that will include 24 cities; based on the picture, it has a similar aesthetic and set-up to the one found in Rock Band 2. The game will also support downloadable content along with an in-game Rock Band Music Store. However, it appears there will be no online or multiplayer support.

Additionally, the art claims the game will have over 40 tracks, all masters. 15 songs are listed, many already playable in the console versions of Rock Band. Which ones are new? 3 Doors Down's "Kryptonite," AFI's "Miss Murder," Alice in Chains' "Would" and... The Jackson 5's "ABC."

All 15 revealed tracks can be found after the jump.

  • Alice in Chains -- Would
  • Billy Idol -- White Wedding, Part 1
  • Blink-182 -- What's My Age Again?
  • Bon Jovi -- Livin' On A Prayer
  • Boston -- More Than A Feeling
  • Foo Fighters -- Everlong
  • Jackson 5 -- ABC
  • Modest Mouse -- Float On
  • Nirvana -- Drain You
  • Pearl Jam -- Alive

@nonwerx:

Supposedly, it plays similarly to Amplitude or Frequency, although I don't know first-hand. We should have a more detailed preview over the next few weeks.

The middle screen does resemble the Amplitude layout of multiple tracks.
That with a few interesting sounds makes me super excited for this.

...now all we need are some of those songs appearing as console dlc

Now if it played like Amplitude or Frequency I would preorder this today...and I haven't even pulled my PSP out of storage in over a year and a half!

Seriously, Harmonix has some serious cash right now, I think its time to invest in an Amplitude sequel

A handheld rockband? GAY. Where's the fun in not simulating playing an instrument.

>Alice in Chains -- Would

God damnit, I swear if this doesn't come out as DLC for the main RB line I'm going to strangle somebody.

Eh...here's the thing. Over half those songs are in Rock Band 2 already, but they are still good songs, so it might be interesting to play them Frequency style. As for the other ones announced, a few are good (Kryptonite only because of middle school nostalgia), but Miss Murder can fuck right off.

If this does end up playing exactly like FreQuency, I will buy a PSP just for this game.

All it has to do is play just like DJ Max and it will be fine.
