I am hugely looking forward to Resistance: Burning Skies. I'm eager to see just how good a first-person shooter feels on the PlayStation Vita, and Resistance is a good a series as any to take the first step.
The above trailer showcases the game's multiplayer mode, which appears to cram in all the bells and whistles from its console brethren. It boasts three modes, six maps, and will support eight players in total, which ain't too shabby. So far, multiplayer on the Vita has been pretty solid, so this ought to work great.
I'm keeping my fingers crossed and I can't wait to check it out. It'll be available May 30.
I don't have the time or money for a Vite right now, but when I do, I am snagging this, Uncharted, Escape Plan, Super Stardust, and MvC3.
I've only played the first Resistance (the second is in the mail from GameFly now), but I like the series thus far. This looks pretty good, though I've never touched the multiplayer.
Picking this up definitely and then two weeks later, Gravity Rush! Looks solid for a handheld FPS and even if it isn't a full-fledged console multiplayer it is the first step towards one.
Will be awaiting reviews... not to sure if Nihilistic will do great things with the franchise. Sony Bend has a much better track record, which made Golden Abyss less of a gamble imo
@L3ED why would anyone get a 3g model? It's a huge money sink.. if you already own an android phone, tether the wifi one. That's what I did for mine and I play on the go all the time.
3 modes across 6 maps...seems fairly bare bones. Add to that the online pass that Sony's shoehorning into their online enabled games and the probability of matchmaking only like Resistance 3 (seriously, why did they change it to matchmaking only after the first 2 games allowed custom games?) and you have a case of no interest.
Multiplayer doesn't really matter to me. I doubt I'd be playing much of it on the Vita anyway. I hope the focus for this game is on the campaign. If it's any good, and the Vita's price drops this year so I can buy one, I might have to go back and play R2 and R3 since I never got around to either, especially with the later have an Online Pass (and I refuse to support games that use them, at least when they're new, $60 products).
This looks really laggy when the video is still loading, but smooths out once it's finished. It's probably running at just under 30fps (ewwww) but it's not nearly as bad as the first 2 clips make it out to be. Why would they choose those horrible shots to start out the trailer?
