Can we please get something original to play instead of remixed PS3 IP's and games that will also be on (and presumably better on) PS3? So far the Vita's biggest selling point seems to be that it's a handheld PS3, right down to the majority of the game they're talking about.
At least have something Metal Gear related on offer like the PSP did, if we're going that route. Or how about some kind of touch-frenzy Time Crisis? Or Ace Combat? If I want to play Killzone, Uncharted, Resistance...I have a PS3 for that.
Or be cool and make a good Taiko Drum Master localization. Please?
The fanboys simply aren't going to know what to do with this one.
NONE of the Sony announced established franchise games will be remakes; all of them are original titles designed specifically with the Vita's features in mind.
The majority of established 3rd party games announced so far have been original entries as well. The Vita has had some interesting new Ips announced, but as is always the case with new gaming systems, established IPs get top priority because they're easier to sell.
"At least have something Metal Gear related on offer like the PSP did"
Kojima has committed to a game, but it hasn't been revealed yet.
Yes, you are the only one tired of seeing awesome games on the PSP. These are not ports. These are brand new entries into fan favorite series. You don't have to play them if you don't want to. But I find it odd that you complain that the Vita is getting too many sequels from Sony's top franchises that you can play on the PS3 (you can't play them on the PS3, these are new entries), and then say that you would rather sequels to Time Crisis and Ace Combat?
Where is your logic. You say you don't want sequels, and then say you want sequels. You don't want sequels to some of the best franchises in games, but you do want sequels to games like...Time Crisis??? Ace Combat? Hmmmm, your logic is a little....how do you say, dumb.
Is it really so much to ask for new games on a new system? I don't have anything against portable versions (I never said they were ports), but if they're basically the same thing as their PS3 counterparts, then it's not a system seller for me.
Not than Nintendo's innocent, but they had remakes of older games (that aren't readily available to a lot of people) and full on new games like Mario 3D Land that don't resemble anything currently out. Uncharted Vita looks like Uncharted PS3 (and plays like it, from what I've heard) as does Killzone, Resistance, LBP and Wipeout. It seems like a lazy move.
PSP at least took it a little differently and had an established franchise but mixed it up with Metal Gear Acid, then did it again with Resistance and Killzone too. They made a new game that was different than it's console brethren, while still being relevant to them in the series. That's what I want, is that so unreasonable?
@EKG
If you actually READ my comment, you'd see I pointed out sequels I'd like IF the Vita insisted on going that route. I don't want them, but if the primary library of games is going to be -quel focused, then at least I can throw out ones I think could possibly benefit from the Vita's tech.
@Sony Vita
I still have faith in you, that Escape Plan game is a step in the right direction. That's what I want. New and unique games. More of that and you'll have a sale.
This portable looks great, definitely on the radar. Going to let the games catalogue grow a bit first.
if i'm not mistaken Sony Bend was saying same thing about Retribution and it turned out to be most generic, uninspiring and boring shooter i've ever played on any platform. not to mention with complete lack of difficulty(final boss was just a fuckin joke).
Only someone as retarded as you can draw a comparison betwen this Resistance(wich you havnt played or got any clue about) and Resistance Retribution.
so perspective automatically changes:
pacing,
level desing,
difficulty,
art style,
and pretty much everything else? cause third person perspective wasn't the thing that sucked in Retribution - EVERYTHING ELSE WAS.
I think when sofik says he "played" a Sony game it really means he watched an E3 demo or something.
atleast hire better level designers cause nearly every level in Burning Skies cause nearly every level in Retribution had:
- long corridor where where they would spawn those head-exploding thingys as a "surprise". it's not much of a surprise when you're doing it in every level at the same moment,
- onrail or mounted gun part(or both),
- some stupid flying enemies you had to kill before opening new path.
- some sort of difficulty,
- if you're making multiplayer component atleast make sure it's not infested by bugs and glitches that will be exploited by cheaters like in Retribution,
