On a related note, I finally booted up Resistance 2 the other night (after my 360 red ringed), and I'm happy to say that it's WAY better than the first so far. I understand people who were disappointed by the lack of weapon choice, but the gameplay and story sucked me in in a way that Fall of Man never accomplished.
So yeah. It's nice to finally be able to say that I'm excited for Resistance 3.
Honestly, it seems that you almost don't want people participating on the site today! (especially since with that grey text I can't read the comments of others without eyestrain anyway).
Really... fix shit!! I'm a gonna just go and do something else, this is too frustrating!
Oh.. and on topic... LOVE the box art and can't wait for R3!!
Can't post? I can't even see the comments on the c-blogs.
As for front page, I use my phone, so I have no idea what the heck that's about.
On topic, this is one of the best box arts I've ever seen! I really wish that "playstation move compatible" logo would go away though.
Most US cover art feature the close up of the main characters. Whereas the minimalist style is used more for collector's edition. I personally like the latter style better.
And seriously, logos ruin good boxart. Do we really need to be reminded that games have PSN/XBL support? Or who developed it? Just throw it on the back, the boxart is designed to sell the game, and a billion logos make the front look extremely busy which causes people to not look at it the same way.
Move should take a page from Kinect compatible (not required) games and just have a small bar that has a picture of what is required or compatible. Instead we get a giant blue semicircle that screams PLAYSTATION MOVE OMG THIS IS HOW YOU SHOULD PLAY EVERYTHING EVER.
The kinect support bar isn't that much smaller(but much more rare) and it goes ALL the way across. Plus xb360 boxes are larger.
And the first two were great games to quite a few people. Still two of my favorite shooters of this generation. Their actually unique.
The Kinect purple bar is far less distracting than a giant blue circle. It's 2% vs 10% coverage, and its far more in your face than either of the Kinect logos. While that may be why most people don't immediately know what games are Kinect compatible, it's more attractive for those of us who don't give a sh*t.
And I know a lot of people liked Resistance, but a lot hated it too. I'm in the latter, but then again Halo inspired the same reaction and I enjoy it. Resistance just lacks polish (opinion) and never really did anything to impress me. It had reasonably solid gameplay, but everything else just didn't interest me.
That said, I'll probably give R3 a try, just to see what they do with it.
@AllenR
x2!
Im really pleased he got to do something like this
On topic this is some sexy and creative box art, it would look better without that ugly move logo though it makes the colors clash
