Might get it, might not. Too much stuff coming out between the 31st and the 7th, really.
Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor 2 is coming out to the 3DS next month??!! Holy fuck, why didn't I see that anywhere? I loved Overclock, so DS2 on the 3DS is a surprise buttsecks to me!!
Also, yeah, not getting this. Was going to get it because I love Resident Evil (even RE5, so fuck you haters), and the Pre-order 3DS skin was too awesome to pass, but FFXIII-2 CE is coming out on the 31st (I also liked FFXIII, so fuck you haters. I'm going to make love to that 4-disc soundtrack), and I've already Pre-ordered my PSVita First Edition, which is coming out on Feb. 15. This places RE:R right in the middle, so this is a no-no.
Might get this during the summer though, when it is still $50 (Nintendo games NEVER, and I mean NEVER, drop in price.)
Restricting a players movement in a tight situation increases the feeling of dread and defencelessness, something good for a horror game. Don't bring up Dead Space, Dead Space isn't scary. There, I said it.

This game is looking better every time I see it, only 6 days before my copy ships!
I sold my 3DS less than a month after launch, and I'm only now considering getting another one. After trying the demo for Revelations and the recent reveal of Spirit Camera in the U.S., I may have to bite the bullet here soon. I'm just worried that as soon as I buy one, Nintendo will announce a remodel.

Not being able to walk and shoot doesn't make the game harder if the game was built around that mechanic, like RE4 and RE5 were. If something like Dead Space did it, but the game was laid out exactly the way the final version was, then we'd have a problem.

Lets see....hmmm. The cut-scenes are a little grainy compared to the gameplay. Some things seem a little too shiny. Having the 3D cranked to the max looks incredible, but usually results in some heavy ghosting. I found the sound to be a little to low even with head phones. Can't change audio tracks mid-game, but that's all just nit-picking.
I was seriously impressed with the demo. Specifically the controls. I have only played RE 4 Wii edition because the usual RE controls have always been difficult for me to grasp, so I was surprised at how good the controls felt. I thought they would be terrible because it only used one stick, but it works. It was restricting enough to make me feel tense, but fluid enough for me to not feel irritated.
It comes out for the DS, not the 3DS, but either way, I'm sure it will be a great game.

What pedrovay2003 said.
My complaint: I can't find a way to zoom in on Jill's shiny butt and cleavage.
Also, the demo is awesome.
You can't fly, ride machine-gun armed unicycles or kill enemies by walking into them either. Are these unnecessary restrictions too? It's all game design dude; you don't give the player all the tools you could possibly conceive of.
Anyway, I hope the full game is up to scratch.
My only complaint about the demo is that I now know I want this game. (That's my wallet's complaint, but whatever.)
It's not like 90% of the time reasons aren't even specific or make any sort of sense, any way.
@magnalon and jawmuncher
I decided last night I wasn't going to download the demo or watch any vids either. I did have my roommate (who's also getting the game) try the demo out and tell me how it was and all they said (as not to spoil much) was: I can see how the circle pad is going to help this.
Not that it was bad, or that it necessarily needed the circle pad to enjoy it, but because they could see how it'd improve the experience of the game. They had fun, even if they died like 3 times trying to get to the end of the demo (only to say: That was it? disappointingly at the end -they seriously wanted to play much more, lol)
definitely won't be watching any RE6 trailers from now on.
amazing game though :P
for those who want to see the japanese voice version :P

Awesome stuff over here.
I walked away impressed with the demo my first time through on normal, then just now I played it in "Hell" difficulty and now the jizz can't stop coming out, different enemy placement, additional weapon, less ammo, less health, more enemy's, fuck I'm loving it, now I retract my statement with the 30 tries, I'm not sure if that's gonna be enough to satisfy my wait for the final product. Also switching the aiming to how re 4 and 5 were works better imo.
They gave players the ability to move and shoot (which is unrealistic in the first place{, but guess what they took away to keep it from being RE5 all over again?
Wide open spaces. Yep, you can't just run away so easy again. Enemies stopped dropping ammo again, too. You'll have to search and get by on what you have, you're less powerful again.
Exactly. This has to be the third time I've seen this site alone forget they were supposed to hate Capcom for some decisions they've made. It's so easy to buy forgiveness from the hardcore gaming community that I've learned to accept that big companies are literally free to do whatever they please.
Anyway as someone with little interest in RE you ain't getting no sour grapes from me until Phoenix vs Layton gets localised, although it's great that you guys are getting a game that looks like the best thing since RE 4 (that shits 7 years old now, DAMN).
