I've been looking forward to this since... well, since the third film came out and they announced the fourth. I think the Resi films are great popcorn action flicks, it seems the only people who don't like them are the ones who get all up in an arse about them not following the games to the letter. But screw that. I love the Resi games (the originals especially) yet I still like these films,. and this one does look like it's going to be great. Alice has become a cool character finally and Claire, Chris, Jill and Wesker are all looking great. Sienna Guillory's back in it? This can't not be at least a fun way to kill two hours.
One day, Milla Jovovich is going to raise her eyebrows up so much that they'll never come back down due to nerve damage or maybe even the wind changing direction.

So what is the reason they are adding brainwashed Jill in? I don't like these movie to began with but the reason I really can't stand them is they throw in random story elements from the actually game and it doesn't make sense at all.

This movie is going to be like every other Resident Evil movie, absolute total garbage. I mean seriously, look at the trailer for this movie and explain to me how this is not going to be a craptastical "ignore story & throw stuff at the screen to wow you with 3D" movie. The trailer itself pretty much just pimps out its own 3D system and has multiple clips where something is being thrown at or pointed directly at the screen/viewer.

I heard you can only trap pure evil using celluloid, hence why they have to make more Sex and The City movies. Then again, I might have gotten that story mixed up with a late night viewing of Wes Craven's New Nightmare.
Like the other RE movies, this will suck. Major donkey balls will be sucked. I mean, there will be almost no redeeming features to this movie. Why do people watch these steaming piles of crap? How did they make enough money to make it to 4? They're even getting worse!

I absolutly loved the second movie. One of the best I've ever seen. But the first and third were... like... BLEARGH!!!
Well I would be one of the biggest resident evil nerds you will come across. I have countless pieces of merch, all source material books, all games for all platforms, god knows how many figurines and I know the history of Umbrella inside out. I've been playing the series since I was 7 and I must say that the only film to even TOUCH the awesomness of the games (total continuity errors not withstanding) was Resident Evil: Apocalypse.
This isn't even Resident Evil anymore -.-.. They need to start over with RE movies, and base off it he games from the beginning, not make a movie out of a game then make the story have nothing to do with the game for 3 movies then all of the sudden add stuff from RE5 ¬.¬.

The trailer was fucking terrible, dude. Not even APC could save it. 60% of it was in fucking bullet time, and Alice has done that same backflip off the wall in every single fucking movie. GET A NEW CHOREOGRAPHER!
You can enjoy the movies all you want - hell, everyone has lame crap they like for one reason or another - but they aren't "good" in any sense of the word. They're trashy, generic, slow motion filled, backflip infested, 3D, money making pieces of vomit.

Alright alright I too have purchased the Resident Evil movies on DVD and I do enjoy them. I don't get any delusions that these are "good" movies but they are more in line with harmless entertainment....even though they break game continuity 99.9% of the time.

You're right that there would have to be major changes to the script. No one is arguing that. But you know, having the same CHARACTERS and the same SETTING (mansion) as the game would be appreciated. And if they TRIED just a little on the script, an RE movie could actually be pretty good. like, good by actual movie standards, not RE movie standards.
