Last we heard, the latest Resident Evil movie was pushed into 2011 due to extra time being needed to ready it up for the third dimension (OMG 3D OMG!). Basically, you were all terribly distraught by the news, as evidenced by these comments here.
As it turns out, Resident Evil: Afterlife is back on for 2010. As a matter of fact, it's actually coming out prior to the release date given to us before the initial delay: September 10 is the new day of reckoning. Apparently, the additional work needed for special effects and 3D trickery wasn't so necessary after all.
ShockTillYouDrop, the Web site that broke the news, also informs us that Afterlife would have been directly competing with Cabin in the Woods, another horror flick (an awesome-looking one at that), for 3D screens had the January 2011 date been finalized. There. Are you happy now, Resident Evil movie fans?

"bitches love sandcastles" ... yet, there is no sandcastle in that photo. We may never truly understand his ways.

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
Cabin in the Woods? Hmm I shall check that out now.
I might get some stone throws, but I actually like the movies. Not great but nice.
The second was "Can we make it in the same place with the same story roughly, but be a decent action flick?" It was okay.
The third was "Fuck it, let's start off with a rape scene then just have action." It was the better of the three.
And seconding Lugtor. 3D Milla is a delicious thought.
Environment comes last before business with big corporations like Umbrella. How are they still in 'business' in a post apocalyptic world anyway? O.o Isn't the stock market taken over by zombiezz now?
The third Resident Evil is bleh >.<
