Mercs has always been a Pretty bad game mode, but i wish pubishers would stop doing this kind of stuff.
I really wish they would have replaced Mercenaries with Raid mode. Raid mode was much more interesting in my humble opinion.
Oh what a pity, guess i'll be waiting for the 'gold' edition then. Pre-order dlc is always annoying, especially when they do decide to sell it, they put all of it into one item, so you end up buying what you got anyway

There is a reason that Capcom has been pulling out all their big brands (other than Megaman) over the last 2 years and still been having profits drop by record amounts (37% drop last year)

Boooooo! This does not please me. Retailer exclusive DLC is always annoying, but couldn't they have made it just some lame guns that I wouldn't miss in the slightest? No matter how they spin it, I just can't see these as "extra maps".
Capcom is screwing up left and right, Konami is all over the place, square enix has been just sad (though it looks like they are starting to improve) the hell is going on over there.
Hate this preorder model. Not supporting capcom's bullshit. Then again, I haven't bought a single capcom game in way over a year.

It's a really, really sad state of affairs when you can point at Activision and sincerely say that they are one of the few companies treating their customers with respect and dignity, while the same can no longer be said for damn near every major publisher that built the video game market up to what it is now in the 80s and 90s.

I've given up on Capcom. While I will not say that RE6 sucks, I really only want to play Leon's part. Since that's a 3rd of the game, I'm not buying it.
Still, we know Capcom is going to include this on disc. There is just no fighting that reality. It sucks, but I'd say just go with that pre-order bonus if you're intending to buy the game day one.

Is it sad that I'm kinda happy they cancelled Mega man legends now? I could see a game like thag being nickel and dimed at every junction.

@Levi: I completely agree. I'm hoping they update mercs to be more like raid at least. I'll be watching closely. It's my deciding factor on wether this is a $40 game or a $20 game. I love that shit so much.
Nothing says robust online community like splitting everyone into four states of content (map 1, map 2, map 3, disc maps) right at launch.

I was wondering how long it would take for Capcoms appaling business practices to sour my anticipation for this game. Turns out, about 2 days.

First you give us day one paid DLC for content that was developed months in advance of the disc going gold, now you have retailer specific DLC which you can't get all of unless you buy the game three fucking times.
If you're a consumer with any balls, you'll do one of three things:
1) Wait until the "Gold Edition" comes out for $40 and get all the content that should have been accessible from the original disc on day one.
2) Buy the game at launch but don't pre-order it or buy the DLC so Capcom doesn't get extra revenue they did nothing to earn from consumers.
3) Don't fucking buy the game in the first place.
End of conversation. Move on.

At one point I used to become mildly enraged that Capcom decides to do things like this but at this point it is just an exasperated sigh. I understand that they are attempting to push higher revenues and make money as any company does but they just have to do it in a grimy fashion. Subsequently, you can just order 3 of them from each place and return 2 after you get your codes in (unless they're somehow snuck into the packages -Amazon likes to do that sometimes I've found)

Bleh. I have no, nor have I ever had any interest in Mercenaries. Raid Mode on the other hand was the shizz. If they don't have that mode in RE6, it may go from insta-buy to rental.
