Even though I was going to buy this game, this just confirms a Day one purchase... on Steam. And based off the trailer, it's going to be a while for the PC version to be released after the 360 version... Fucking bullshit.

If multiplayer is the reason the series "was ever popular," then where was the multiplayer in 0, 1, 2, 3, CV, and 4?
In case you haven't heard, Capcom is bucking the trend of just throwing together an online multiplayer mode out of resources used in the main game, and creating a wholly separate experience for it. I hear the mode will be a lot like Super Smash Brothers, feature an "Us vs. Them" style roster a la Marvel vs Capcom, and feature Rival Schools style minigames.
The co-op mode sounds pretty mind blowing, too. Instead of having a bunch of people choosing different characters and working as a team, they're going all the way with the teamwork aspect and having 6 people control 6 parts of Chris' body at once. There'll be actual teamwork absolutely needed if you plan on Voltron-ing your way through the entire story mode.
I'm telling you, the more I hear about this game, the more I want it.

Like I said in my C-Blog, pretty sure the 6-player co-op will be for Mercenaries or the return of the RAID mode from Revelations, nothing to get ipset about.

Make it a seperate campaign for the love of God. That's what killed 5 for me. I had no one to co op with and the ai fucking drove me mad. Sp campaign, seperate coop campaign/mode (mercenaries with 6 players on a huge map? Yes pls) and we're good. Either way revelations seems to be giving me what I want, but I'd like it to have a big brother.
i just want the good old Mercenaries mode back :P

Please god don't have all six characters going at once during the single player game. I can't count the times Sheva died because she was too stupid to run from chainsaw men or those bug things that fall out of the ceiling. If you make them like the ones in Gears Of War then maybe it will be OK. Dom Never got killed by the Berserker because he was smart enough to get the fuck out of the way.

Is it really a horror game anymore? Seems like an action coop game to me. Never did like resident evil, but I could see why people got hooked into it, and this newest one presents none of the examples why people liked resident evil in the first place. CAPCOM, BE GOOD AGAIN AND SYUCH.
I doubt the coop over two players is story related.

Can't they just let Slant Six make an awesome coop game and they can focus on making a great Resident Evil single player game? Having two multiplayer games in the same franchise being released in the same year is really dumb. Or maybe they have no faith in the multiplayer component of one of the games, in which case, why even bother to throw together a half-assed mode that you know isn't any good?

Hopefully there won't be any 6 player coop in the main campaign. Resident Evil was all about atmosphere, I don't want to be forced to play with some dorks that just want to rush through the campaign.
I just want to play the story in split-screen co-op. That being said, I hope the singleplayer has no team A.I, its almost always horrible AI that spams crouch and shoots a few rounds into the sky.
If the story mode is compatible with 6 players, that sounds troubling. If the 6 player co-op is mission based like Modern Warfare 2 & 3 Special Ops, I can live with that, if it didn't detract from single player
Unless the 6-player co-op has only one life per character, no continues and no ability to revive characters who are fatally injured or infected(though there could always be some kind of mini-game that, if successfully completed, allows the infected to retain some measure of humanity) and ramps up the number of enemies on-screen in some scenes to Dynasty Warriors levels to enforce that 'Night of the Living Dead' atmosphere where a fairly large group is gradually whittled down to one, it doesn't seem feasible to have 6-player co-op in a Survival Horror game.
Sure, they may have to struggle with one another over the scarce ammo, weapons and healing items, but six people with close range weapons could likely just over-power everything in their way or split the focus of individual powerful monsters enough to easily peck it to death.

While I agree with you on forced multiplayer, but gamer's would bitch if it wasn't included. Capcom can't win either way.
Here's hoping they don't try to shoehorn in Monster Hunter elements like they did with Lost Planet 2. Don't get me wrong, I like Monster Hunter, but you need loot as an incentive which LP2 didn't have. Hmmm, Resident Evil with loot...

I enjoyed playing RE:5 campaign with a friend, had a lot of fun, but no, the game was no scary at all. So co-op doesn't make me sad, just don't want it to be almost mandatory as it was in RE:5.

Maybe the six player co-op is going to be Mercenaries competitive co-op and the multiplayer is free for all Mercenaries? That is the only way it makes sense to me without hearing specifics.
So we have those on one side who want a return to the survival horror style of the old resident evil games like 1, 2, 3, Code Veronica.
Then you got those who love the Resident Evil 4 and 5 style, and people in between I guess, I loved em all execept for Chris Redfield in 5 who was boring and too beefed up and looked slightly retard.
Why not do 2 styles then? Make this Resident Evil 6 and then a Resident Evil 6 Gaiden or something that's more in line with the old games style of limited ammo and survival.
