Resident Evil 5 screens forget to show blood photo

As a Silent Hill guy, it almost shames me to say that I’m excited for the next iteration of the Resident Evil franchise. Resident Evil 4 and its much-improved mechanics revitalized my hope that Capcom will eventually create a near perfect action/horror game. Today, Capcom released eight new screenshots for the upcoming Resident Evil 5 and I was shocked to find a lack of gore. How could Capcom do this to us?

The screens seem to dictate that Capcom is spending a lot of time with the cooperative play. Almost every capture has the mystery girl and Chris getting ready to do something cool like shoot a zombie or help each other across an obstacle. I pray to Denis Dyack’s Norse gods that the cooperative play doesn’t boil down to the travesty that was Army of Two. Please Capcom, hold off on the ledge grabbing and add more chainsaw. It’s for the children.

It looks alright. I've actually NEVER played RE4, so I'm not as hyped about this game as everyone else. I, too, am more of a Silent Hill guy.
Maybe I'll pick up the cheap Wii RE4 and see what all of the hype was about.

The screens are likely coming from the Japanese version of the game, which I assume follows RE4's example of toning down the violence present. The Japanese version of RE4 does not, to my knowledge, feature four gallons of blood per enemy hit with a bullet, and censors to some degree the instant death sequences some enemies could inflict on poor Leon.

It's just because of Leipzig, they weren't going to show RE5 at all at first because of the gore (I think). Damn violence-in-games nazi's...
