Resident Evil 5 development is 'like wartime' photo

Resident Evil 5 producer Masachika Kawata has been describing the warlike development process of Capcom's long-awaited horror game, revealing that a lot of arguments have gone on behind the scenes and that the team is feeling the loss of Resi creator Shinji Mikami.

"The team has been having quite a lot of arguments, but at the end of the day the team is working towards one goal - to make a great game

[Director Takeuchi] is very hard working and he makes the team work very hard as well. He gets into big arguments with everyone; Resident Evil 5's development is like wartime, but he's got incredible leadership.

A designer comes up with sketches but they don't always work on the screen; we have to modify it, make changes and we go through this process all the time. The artists and programmers are doing their best, so when their work is rejected by the director it can be quite heartbreaking
."

When talking about the loss of Mikami, Kawata admitted that the team misses him, but that "he's left and such is life."

Perhaps this would explain why Capcom has been spending money on looking after the team's mental health? Sounds pretty harsh, but the game is at least looking terrific, so here's hoping at the anguish pays off.

Are they changing the old stop and shoot system or what? By the way I'm not implying that changing to a run and gun system is necessarily a good idea.
