Resident Evil 5: AE bonus mission coming to the 360 photo

The latest issue of Famitsu, by way of IGN, has some nice new info on Resident Evil 5: Alternative Edition in regards to the bonus mission for Jill and Chris. The new mission is set three years before the events of RE 5 as they’re searching for Ozwell E. Spencer. You saw a few flashbacks to this scenario in RE 5, specifically when Jill was trying to remember who she was.

The play experience will be the same as RE 5, except replace Sheva with Jill in this section. It’s set to be about two hours long and should provide more horror than what RE 5 offered too. You will be able to play this flashback story with a friend in co-op and you’ll actually be able to play co-op between the original version of the game too.

Finally, producer Jun Takeuchi told Famitsu that this bonus mission will be coming for the Xbox 360 as well, but it’s not clear whether this will be DLC or a disc. We should be hearing more details soon.

DLC would be nice but it sounds cool either way. Resident Evil just doesn't feel like Resident Evil without a big spooky mansion.

There is no reason for this to not be DLC. The engine is there, the character models are there, all they have to make is the level and add some polish and details, which has been done with many other games this generation. If this is limited to a retail disc, expect many gamers to cry bloody murder.

Wow, cross-play between AE and the original? That's pretty nice. Does that mean the save games will be compatible, too?

It fracken better be DLC! A whole new disc for 2 hours content my ass. i've always wondered just how new ninja Jill and the other black guy (the soldier who's name I can't remember, Michele?) Ended up in a helicopter with two mega RPG's just in time to rescue Chris and Sheva. I always thought the first DLC would involve them some how. Maybe the next tim.

"It's supposed to be 2 hours long" So it's actually longer than the original game??

If this comes out as dlc, then what's the fucking point of getting the AE edition?!?

Cool. I knew it would come to the 360. I think my mom and her boyfriend bought me this game (for Christmas it is probably in their safe). So I can not wait for this.

Excellent. Thanks for not screwing us over completely Capcom. With the Super Street Fighter announcement, I was getting kinda annoyed, but this has cooled me off a bit.

Wow, Okay, I already know that the mansion mission will take place on a stormy night. Hopefully real zombies will be there and if this mission actually makes me jump at times, then I'll forgive the more action-based main game. ...PLEASE make it survivor horror, capcom...
