Resident Evil 2 and Soul Reaver now out on the PSN store photo

Two fantastic PlayStation One era games are available on the PlayStation Network Store this week. Resident Evil 2 and Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver are both up for grabs for the low price $5.99 each.

Resident Evil 2 is the best Resident Evil game right after Resident Evil 4. The story, the atmosphere, the G-Virus creatures -- the game was a thing of beauty. Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver is also good, but the game was so confusing to play. I just remember having an extremely hard time trying to get through the game when it originally came out. Maybe it's time to give it another go, though.

Any of you planning on picking either of these up?

=D Soul Reaver!! =D

The only thing that would be better is if it were the Dreamcast version... it was so much smoother looking.

I never got to finish Soul Reaver, so I'll definitely get that.

"best Resident Evil game right after *Resident Evil 4*". wha- "Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver... remember having an extremely hard time trying to get through the game" oh, that explains something

Sony is doing this right. Most of the Xbox Games on demand stuff is more expensive than the physical versions. Physical copies of Resident Evil 2 go for way more than $5.99 on eBay. Good on them.

Not sure anyone remembers, but Soul Reaver had the weakest game ending in gaming history. Just be warned.

As soon as I saw the update I ran to my ps3 and bought them both, I was especially waiting for soul reaver having bought Blood Omen a few months back on the PS store and loved it. I went out and bought all the other versions of the game except for soul reaver because I wanted to play it on my psp. AND I LOVE IT. Great voice acting amazing music and I'm not sure I've ever played a game where I get to Impale people so often, they should make more games like this.
Resident Evil 2, well I had to get that one, it's a classic (and I'm a bit surprised it's only 5.99 but I'm happy with it!).

Can anyone play as Claire on Resident Evil 2?? It seems as if this is just Leon! How could they not have both?

Hmmm that sucks and also makes sense since they were 2 different discs and would probably require a whole recoding... perhaps a RE2:Claire Edition is coming up? :[

Hey! Try hitting the PS button. If it's like FFVII, there should be an option to change discs.

@ashtar: There was but it was Disk 1 and the option was grayed out. Do you think I have to unlock it?

I got it!

1.) Hit the HOME or PS Button
2.) Select Reset
3.) When prompted, choose to change Disc to Disc 2
4.) The game should now be Reset on Disc 2, Claire's Mission

@ashtar: It worked! Thank you very much. Seems like a lot just to change the disk, I wonder why you cant do it from the Menu?

A bit of a pain, yeah, but that's the trade off for digital, I suppose. At $6, I can't really find room to complain.

I got both right away - I've been waiting for RE2 for my PSP for a while now. So glad it came out.
I have the dreamcast version of Soul Reaver, but having a portable version is a great. I really like the game. And the opening cinematic is as awesome as I remember it.

Resident Evil 2 is indeed the scariest in the series, I think, but I've got the entire series on the GameCube, which I'm more than fine with. Soul Reaver, on the other hand, I think I need to buy.

I swear the day this happened, I said "If Soul Reaver was on PSN I would buy it right now!" and they put it up immediately! I should exercise my authority more often

Re2 for sure. I got RE1 but arrange mode is so hard. I was a speed runner my best time was 1:34. And here I am
I can't beat the arrange mode.

I still have to know what the PS1 games look like on an HD

Shenazin - it looks just like it did on the PS1. They've made no changes whatsoever. I also bought Suikoden, the best RPG in history for my money, and it was also very faithfully reproduced.

Personally, i can't wait for Darkside Chronicles for the WII so that i can see the improved graphics for these settings.
