On March 28 2011, at 13:48, Jim Sterling proudly announced that he just beat the best 3DS launch title before everybody else he knows. The game? Try To Hit The 3DS Friend List Cap. It was tough, but thanks to Twitter and a ludicrous amount of time spent typing out Friend Codes, he maxed out his list at 100!
"I'm not sure what's best, the fact I did it, or the fact that it's a glorious waste of time and energy," said Sterling. "I have spent more minutes putting in Friend Codes than doing anything else with the system, and I now don't know what to do anymore. I might just start cutting myself with the stylus."
The real challenge in the game is the patience required. Every time you add a new friend, you have to scroll through your other friends to get to the start and add another. By the time just thirty friends were added, this became a chore for Sterling. He saw it through, though, because he's great.
"I'm great," he said. "I've wasted what little life my clogged arteries have spared me."
