Remedy to comment on PC version of Alan Wake photo

Alan Wake is a third-person action game starring a man named Alan Wake. We’ve heard reports that players might be to control Alan Wake in his magical flashlight-laden journey to somewhere in order to do something.  We know that Wake himself narrates at least forty-or-so seconds of the game and that it will have at least one QTE event. Also, there will be villains with axes that can be killed with bullets.

As far as we know (and hopefully you see the problem here), Alan Wake is slated to hit the Xbox 360 and PC. At E3 2009, the game was given a release window of “Spring 2010,” but that was only for the Xbox 360 version. According to a recent posting by a Remedy Entertainment representative on the official Alan Wake forums (what a lonely place), details on the PC version are coming. So, get excited.

“We're focusing all our efforts on the 360 version and will be making comments in regards to the PC at a later in time,” the rep said in a thread dedicated to getting a “straight answer” about the PC version.

We’re hoping it doesn’t take a full year (or several) to know if the PC version was canned or not, so here’s to hoping “a later time” really means “in a few months.”

Worst news I've heard in a while given that when I heard this game was Vista-exclusive, I upgraded to Vista for it and it alone. Not too pleased that I've stuck with the OS and endured all its bullshit for nothing.

I'm the only one who doesn't have a problem with Vista, Confirmed.

That being said, I'd be buying this on a 360, simply because by the time the PC version comes out, my PC won't be able to run it.

isn't "QTE event" redundant?
like DC comics? and thing?

i was very excited for this game until the suspense was shattered with the god awful preview that showed it to be alone in the dark meets cottage country.

secret window the game, this is not.

I love vista, it's what XP could have been.

Anyway, this is sad news. I'm always open to games :(

Chronic Logic - more or less. It was a toss-up between XP again and Vista when I built my new computer, and I almost went with XP until I remembered Alan Wake. That convinced me to go for Vista.

Oh yeah, DX10.. Guess we won't have anything to worry about if Alan Wake comes out after Windows 7? ;)

So used to this crap by now. Luckily the game doesn't look that great, and the only reason I hold out any hope is soley on the basis of Max Payne 1 and 2 being so good.

Seriously? What a load of fucking bullshit. Concentrating all your efforts on the 360 version? I'm sorry, wasn't it SUPPOSED to be a PC exclusive? Fuck this, I'm tired of lazy developers. "Oh, boohoo, piracy and a fanbase that's not made up of millions of screaming 12 year olds! I just don't have the effort in me to make my game steam exclusive for the PC!"

I want more games for my PC, and it would be nice if they paid the same attention as they do to console releases. Hey, they charge 60usd for a title like Alan Wake, and they have to charge 50usd for the same on the PC... the industry has to cut the price of AAA videogames on consoles, 60usd is too expensive for a game. So dont come with the piracy argument... they want to make more money from the console version first.

The latest results show that necause of the crisis people is playing more used games, thats why sales of new videogames are slowing down, because they are too fu***** expensive.
