Happy Tuesday, everyone! Today sees the release of a few long-anticipated games. SoulCalibur V and Final Fantasy XIII-2 (360, PS3) are the big ones that come to mind, followed by Konami's NeverDead(360, PS3) and finally, Rhythm Party for Kinect on Friday. Anything looking good to you this week?

Meet the rest of the team
I've got the collector's edition of FFXIII-2 waiting at home, and I'll probably pick up Soul Calibur this weekend. Might eventually rent NeverDead, depending on the reviews.
Need to play the demo for 13-2, I want to like it. I've enjoyed what I've read in review and I need a break from Skyrim. But Kingdoms hits on the 7th and I'm all about that. Hrmmm.
Amalur + Online pass = Skip
FFXIII-2 ... Playing Skyrim and Lost Odyssey, it can wait.
SCV - Waiting for an SCII diehard to review it, won't trust anyone else.
NeverDead - Came out of nowhere, seldom a good sign.
Saving my money for RE: Revelations for now. February's looking like a 3DS month on the whole.
Picking up FFXIII-2 later this week, have the CE pre-ordered so thats not an issue.
I still think Neverdead looks quite fun, a lot of 7s and such. It was actually Eurogamer's 6/10 review that got me really interested in the game. I recommend that everyone read it.
yay i just got my FFXIII-2 CE from Bestbuy and Soul Calibur V(Amazon) today :P
kinda disappointed that the FFXIII-2 novel has the same size of a game manual, plus it's thin too.
i was expecting at least much thicker and wider :\
im also disappointed with the way Namco put the "Making of Soul Calibur V" disc. since the holder is some sort of cotton instead of the traditional plastic holder in pretty much every case in media.
oh well it's all good.
might buy Neverdead in the near future :P
will get Soul Calibur V and Final Fantasy XIII-2 Strategy Guide sometime next week.
both collector's edition and hard cover.
and wow i went on a Final Fantasy XIII-2 and Soul Calibur V shopping spree XD
I realized the other day I have to let go of Final Fantasy. Like that early love you have and all your memories are soft and warm and pure but in actuality she's a raging drunk now that has had 3 kids with 3 dudes, I have to remember the things I loved (4-9), the things I liked (3, 12) and even appreciate the bad (1, 2, 10) but draw the line at the thigs that will sour all of that (13, X-2). The FF I loved doesn't live anymore.
Guess I'll stick to banging her sister Mistwalker. And bring on Amalur, I'm looking forward to that after the fun demo.
After playing NeverDead a bit, I can say I like it. I'd probably give it around a 7/10.
It's fun and has some great ideas, but it's brought down by annoyances. Mainly, the whole dismemberment could be a lot more fun if you weren't swarmed by respawning enemies that can take off your limbs the second you retrieve them. It makes battles way longer than they should be. I'm having a little bit less of a problem as Bryce levels up, but it's still annoying.
That said it is a fun game. It's just not quite as great as I was hoping.
Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
I'm actually gonna play it today, so I can go on New Challenger this Thurday to review it with Anthony Carboni. I'll be sure to post the results!
I know NeverDead will probably get terrible reviews, but my gut tells me I'll love it more than a lot of AAA shooters.
Aside from some technical issues, the guy that reviewed it for OPM seemed to really enjoy it.
I guess I'll just see how it is when UPS finally shows up.

Because, apparently, I have too much money on my hands.
Ah, that sucks. I'll have to read some and see what the problems are. Is anyone on D-Toid going to review it?

I just got NeverDead from UPS. I haven't had a chance to play it just yet, installing it on my 360 at the moment.

Yeah, I hate saying that because I like supporting smaller games, but that's probably about right.
