Hudson Entertainment has dated its gloomy Wii platformer, Lost in Shadow, for a January 4 release.

To mark this momentous occasion of putting a date on a game release, Hudson has decided to pull the wrapping off one of the game's features, "Materialization." While most of the game will be played as a young boy as a shadow, sometimes he'll have to become a "creature of light." He'll receive multiple swords, like the "Watchman's Sword," which can cleave reality, creating a door between the light and the shadow. By doing so, the boy can manipulate physical objects, but only for a small period of time.

No idea what the hell I'm talking about? Hudson was nice enough to send along not only some new screens, but a trailer demonstrating this fancy "Materialization" technique. It's gorgeous, so check it out.

Damn, I would've loved this for the holiday season. But, history shows us that smaller, less advertised games, have no hope during the holidays, and I would hate to see this game fail.

The Japanese version is a multi-language release and it isn't hard to get your wii to play games that aren't legit.

It leaked days ago.

The gameplay looks interesting, but the music in this video is GREAT! Must find source!

I hope the rest of the title lives up to what that video has shown me and also, the price. Consider this purchased! Eventually, that is... and hopefully before the first sales figures pour out.

Also, I'm tempted to just import the Japanese one that extendd pointed out is out already -- It's $60 on Play-Asia right now. But I'm not downloading any leaks.
