Relax, Fallout 3's 'The Pitt' DLC is all better now photo

As I'm sure you all heard, reports that Fallout 3's The Pitt add-on was plagued with graphical glitches and other weirdness made the rounds recently, and everyone made a huge deal out it. While it's perfectly acceptable to demand excellence, I think a few people went a little overboard. But, this is the Internet we're talking about, after all.

Long story short, if you downloaded the corrupt version of The Pitt, you'll need to erase the file and downloaded the clean one (which is now available) from the Xbox LIVE Marketplace. If you're unsure how to do that, here's a simple set of instructions:

  • Sign in to Xbox LIVE then press the guide button
  • Go to Settings->System Settings->Memory.
  • From here, scroll down to Fallout 3 and press A.
  • Select Fallout 3: The Pitt (Marketplace Content) press A then choose Delete, then Yes to Delete
Even though I've posted about The Pitt here on Destructoid more times than I care to admit, I didn't even get around to downloading the content. No, it wasn't because I heard that some people were experiencing issues with it, but rather it was due to GDC and all of the madness it brings. I guess I lucked out, huh?

You missed the drama queens crying murder over this.

It didn't affect me though. The PC version of the Pitt was smooth. I had zero issues and so for the content is really awesome. The auto axe isn't as good as I was expecting it to be though.

The raging was hilarious, "BETHESDA CAN'T PROGRAM" being my favourite quote. Programming, as we all know, is responsible for missing resources.

Oh, the depression!

I checked the Bethesda Blog last night to get some info on this, and was amazed at the amount of nerd rage in the comments. People wanted "compensation" and shit. Compensation for what? Because you're a total douchebag that TOOK OFF WORK to play a goddamned DLC expansion? That's your own stupid decision. Every time the slightest thing goes wrong these days, consumers think they're entitled to free shit. It's ridiculous.

And I am excited to play this. Though I'm really just waiting for "Broken Steel".

I bought Fallout 3 from steam specifically for operation anchorage, got the add-on installed, started playing, then realized that if i try to load any save file after the VR simulation starts, the game crashes.....

I un-installed Fallout 3, and the x-pac, then went to re-install, fallout 3 installed perfectly (steam rocks) byt microsoft live says that i allready downloaded it, and fallout 3 is not detecting any .esm(or whatever) file, and i did a search for anchorage.esm, and specified to searcvh for hidden files and folders (after doing some reading i found out that M$ decided to install the expansion to a hidden directory on your system) and i found nothing........

not buying anything else thats from microsoft live...steam rocks though, they at least let you make backs up of what you paid for in case you need to OSRI.

Still wasn't working for me. Just crashes my 360 the moment I try to load up a game. Gonna see if have GNR on was causing it for some reason since I can play fine if I delete it off my HDD, still I'm sad since I want to play now and can't.
