Rejoice! Avatar Halloween clothes coming to Xbox Live! photo

When I thought that this year's Halloween might pass without some downloadable clothes for my Avatar, I was so upset that I threw up vomit all over my hands and shirt. I then wailed like Satan's own baby and smashed my head into a concrete paving slab for eight days until my skull was soft and I wept tears of blood from my eyeholes. So, thank Christ for Microsoft, because Halloween clothes are here!

For 240 Microsoft Points, you can download a variety of spooky costumes, dressing up your mawkish little turd as a witch, a vampire, a werewolf and a mummy. Some of the costumes lack the required masks, which will cost an extra 80 Points because, hey, why not spend your fake money on fake clothes?

The costumes look cool, but it'll be a cold day in Hell before I ever consider exchanging anything of monetary value for an Avatar garment. Still, there are people who are far stupider than I am, so expect to see Microsoft pull this stunt every time a holiday rolls around. Goodie for us!

Wait are you telling me that Microsoft has switched to a new currency system?! Man, and I was just getting used to the banana dollars too...

Wonder what the exchange rate will be.

I'd prefer it instead they brought out a more reliable console.

Wow I was worried Microsoft had stopped making money for a bit there.

If I see anybody on my friends list wearing one of these on their avatar, I think I'll delete them.

What a waste of cash.

The only way I will even consider buying this is if the werewolf mask is a separate piece, and you can mix and match with other items.

Because, finally, I will have my hip-hop werewolf.

I downloaded the Free Halloween stuff that came out a little while ago, expecting them to be clothes (it was avatars, dressed up) and couldn't find them.

Finally figured out they're gamer pictures.

This is lame.
If I was gonna buy ANYTHING, it would be something "regular" that's not in the regular clothes.
I hate the concept, but I would totally buy a bomber jacket if they had one.

You know, if Microsoft did some sort of promotion where quite a few people got random avatar stuff for free each time new stuff came out, I wouldn't mind it so much, because then I don't have to realize people pay money for this stuff if I see it on their avatar. As it stands, I am forced to assume anyone wearing this has deep psychological problems of some sort.

I was going to go for a witch, but then I realized I needed the hat too and that was an extra 80 points. Damn you microsoft!!

Does anyone even care about avatars?

Make a poll please, or be so kind to explain why I would care about something I barely glimpse before I turn my games on.

I knew this was going to happen. We're not going to see anymore free avatar clothes now that the marketplace is here....

If these were free? I'd snag 'em.

I'd consider at 10 points. More? Not a freaking chance.

Normally I'd agree with the rest of you but since I'm planning on being a badass mummy for Halloween already I might not be able to resist dressing my Avatar up the same as myself for a couple bucks.

One of these, or a Rock Band 2 track.

If you picked one of these, I have bad news for you.

Hey Jim, any word on when the unlockable avatar clothing thing will go into effect? Like with the Splosion Man t-shirts and stuff for achieving certain things in-game.

Was this already activated and I missed the announcement?

It seems as if the free avatar clothes releases are over. Too bad, I won't spend any money on avatar clothes (other than the 5 bucks I dropped on my fashionista outfit). :(

If anybody on my friends list has one of them, I will remove them. Not that I like seeing fucking avatars. I should change the boot option to disc.

I'm gonna be a smartass here and ask: When you throw up, can you throw up anything BUT vomit? Doesn't anything you throw up automatically become vomit, even if it's Svarovski crystal?

I was kind of interested in the werewolf, but since my avatar is female it's apparently not available for girls. What a load of bull.

I bought the Werewolf costume today! I thoroughly enjoy flipping through the 'Friends' tab and seeing what my acquaintances are playing, so I'm hoping to make at least one of them do a spit-take when they see a fucking werewolf in place of my regular avatar.

BTW: who unfriends people over Avatars? Jim's articles stir up hate like a kick to a beehive.
