It would seem that Nintendo Europe's condescending attitude that only "geeks and Otaku" care about the Wii's low storage capacity is not a belief shared by Nintendo of America. Reggie Fils-Aime, the man with beefburger fists that can punch through walls, has admitted that the need for an extended storage solution is important to all customers.
"From an Americas-centric perspective, here is the reality we see. We have a consumer base who loves virtual console," stated the savory executive. "We have a userbase who really is enjoying WiiWare content. So for us really our challenge really is how do we satisfy all these consumers who are loving all of the product we make available on a download basis?"
"As we continue to have things [...] like Mario Kart that has its own channel when you're playing from an Internet perspective, we're just making this challenge tougher and tougher. So in our view this is becoming much more of a mainstream problem, which is why we have a sense of urgency to solve it."
The idea that only "core" gamers cared about extra storage was a myopic view in the first place. Having to buy SD cards and delete previous games is not something that only hardcore players would find inconvenient, because it is an inconvenience, no matter who you are. In any case, the fact that Nintendo actually gives a crap now is pleasing, although with external memory and the WiiMotion Plus accessory, is it fair to say that the Wii is only recently being turned into a finished product?

Meh, all systems have this issue. The new PS3's have crippled or no backwards compatibility. Almost every other early 360 broke. Both platforms have had issues with different hard drive sizes and different release packages. The PS3 is just starting to get true DualShock (and good games....)
Generally speaking, all three console manufacturers have failed this generation. I just want one system to do everything it promises without having to spend 600 dollars. Is that so wrong to ask.. especially a few years into this generation?

There are so many fantastic games comming out for 360 & PS3 that are very creative and super entertaining + with HD GRAPHICS. I don't get it at all......

Also, here is what I said in a post right before this one: "I'm so happy I built a gaming PC. I know PC gaming gets a bad rap these days.. but there are so many options!"
I'm just so underwhelmed by all the consoles this generation. I'd say I'm less a Wii fanboy than a PC fanboy. I just think it's ridiculous that PS360 fanboys go apeshit on the Wii, while their own shit continues to stink.
As a sidenote, while I don't really care about Fable, I'm sure Fable 2 will come out for the PC like its predecessor. I'm actually very excited for Fallout 3. I'll be playing it on the platform it's meant for.. the PC. I could give a shit about HD graphics... I can't afford an HD TV, and I just don't see a good reason to make the investment.

Most of which are coming out for the PC. The remainder of which either A. I don't give a shit about (you can put Halo and Gears of War solidly in this territory. The PC has more than enough FPS's to satisfy even the most rabid FPS fan until the end of time itself... and I'm not really a big FPS fan to begin with). B. Has the words Resident, Evil, Final, Fantasy, Ninja, or Gaiden in it.
There are also lots of fun games for the Wii. I don't think its a fantastic system, but I certain get more multiplayer play out of it then I would get out of a PS360. I'm quite happy to keep the PC as my solo gaming platform and use the Wii for multiplayer.
As for being a Nintendo fanboy, I had a n64 AND a PSOne. I bought a PS2 but not a Gamecube. This weekend I'm buying a PSP but not a DS. I don't take brands that seriously. I just think its ridiculous that PS360 fans need to compensate for something by ripping on the Wii. Don't like it? Don't get one. I still feel I made the right choice, although all three major consoles pale in comparison to the PC or even the PS2.

Yes graphic don't make the game, but it sure in the fuck adds to the experience and can bring life to the game. Also, N+ is an Xboxlive game that cost 10 bucks. Nintendo is charging 50 bucks for a lesser experience and lesser graphics than N+. Pixel Junk Monsters is a great example of simple gameplay and simple graphics. It takes a good balance to make a great game.
Do you really want me to list all of the shovelware on the ps3 and 360 that cost $60?

Depends on how you define exclusives. There are thousands of things you can do with a PC that you can't do with a console outside the realm of gaming. Inside gaming, there are millions of mods, emulators, self-made games, hacks, etc. to play with. There is also a long history of old PC games you can play with few or no problems. Finally, there are still some pretty big exclusives, especially for a strategy fan like myself. There are obvious ones like Colonization, Starcraft 2, Civilization (real Civilization, not watered down Revolution crap), Galactic Civilizations, Sins of a Solar Empire, etc. However, there are strategy games most people never heard of that I play constantly. Europa Universalis, Hearts of Iron, Victoria, Crusader Kings - these are absolutely amazing games that are IMPOSSIBLE to do on a console. Maybe when keyboard/mice become popular on the PS360 it'll be possible, but not before then.
Trying to convince me that it makes more sense to get an HDTV and a 360 than to get a new computer is just absolute nonsense. Not only would the total cost be higher (For a decent HDTV, you're looking at spending at least 300-400 bucks. 400 dollars for a decent Xbox360. I upgraded my computer to play Crysis at mostly highest settings for about 700 dollars a year ago. It'd be cheaper now), but I'm the kind of guy who just finds the 360's library to be a joke compared to the PC's.
Finally, even if the PC doesn't have that many exclusives, it gets a lot of the best console games. There are very few games I want that I don't have access to. I already listed the titles. Among them, only Ninja Gaiden is out.

AlexRadl: nope, just saw the live footage, and played the original fable. They didn't jump in the demo at all, and fallout looks like just another war game, but with sweeter weapons. The nuke tosser is awesome though.

Honestly, I don't really shit on the PS3 and 360 that much. I shit on all three companies for screwing over the consumer consistently, and I shit on people who have some weird complex with the Wii and must attack it and everything it stands for like it's fucking Hitler.
If you prefer the PS3 or 360, that's fine. I never attacked the judgment of people who prefer those systems. Whateve's. Enjoy. Just understand that they aren't -currently- worth it for me.
