To say that Nintendo was tight-lipped at GDC about games coming out after the first quarter this year is about as much of an understatement as saying their press conference at last year's E3 was only somewhat of a let down. They wouldn't budge an inch on anything except Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks, and all we got of that was a trailer. Plenty of people tried to ply information out of Reggie, but nothing much came of it except for a quote from X-Play, where he says that E3 is going to be exciting.
"What I can tell you is, it's coming. That's what E3 is for. We'll be showcasing the back-half of the marketing calender and all of the content that we'll be launching at that point. What I can tell you is be there. We'll have some great content to share," he said, most likely while giving an arrogant smile.
Can we really trust this man and his opinion on what constitutes a good E3 show anymore? After last year's cavalcade of casual and Reggie's claim that it was all for the hardcore, I find it hard to put my faith in him. Still, other than Mario & Luigi RPG 3 and Sin and Punishment 2, we know very little about what Nintendo has in store for us down the road. Hopefully they learned their lessons last year and this year will be huge.

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
*sigh*
I wouldn't be surprised if they delayed their Zelda announcement all this time, just so that wouldn't loose face during this years E3, like they did last year.
All that needs to be said.
IT'S RAVI!!!!! One of the better internet memes of last year! Here's hoping Nintendo does NOT dissappoint us this year and once again provides us with a meme that is actually funny.
*fingers crossed* ;)
I clicked on "view comments" simply out of the hope that someone would post that! Thank you berry berry much.
Dtoid posted the development art for it like a couple of months ago. Supposedly they gave up on it.
I was quite appalled that, by 10 comments in, no one actually posted the amazing .gif! No post about Ninty and it's E3 hopes is complete without that hilarious .gif.
:)
Also I can't look forward to Nintendo's E3 showings anymore after the last two years.
I also hope squareenix will show off the crystal bearers more.
I was just at Target. The Xbox 360 and PS3 shelf space COMBINED is equal to the Wii games shelf space. Add in the crappy accessories and it's even more lopsided. Nintendo hasn't just stopped servicing the gamer market, now they are hurting it.
No it's not :)
Maybe because if you actually know how to look for good games, you'll find them, even on the Wii. Simple.
I honestly have no faith in the wii and nintendo. Its obvious that I as a consumer am not in their minds so I'll let them worry about their wii. I bought it and it forced me to leave it to collect dust.
I want to believe.
Where the fuck is Hiroshi Yamauchi when you need him?
Pretty easily I think.
His leaving/death will be the second best thing to ever happen to Nintendo, right behind hiring him in the first place.
Yes, there are one or two good games. I have a wii for them. But the fact of the matter is that Nintendo doesn't care about gamers. So why should gamers care about Nintendo? All they do is take shelf space away from good games.
Don't argue with Pedro, I'm pretty sure Nintendo has him on retainer.
And I'm looking forward to Nintendo's E3, I wanna see all shit they shovel for the "core" gamer and I want to see the fanboys defend them(seeing as Wii fanboys are eternal optimists).
Oh yes, it shall be glorious.
Pretty easy, when the best title on the current system is a rerelease of a PS2 game.
Resident Evil 4? I hear they added motion control stuff. Technically that's a port. And I think I know a thing or two about the difference.
I've ported wars, you know.
...
Erm, sorry, I meant Cowzilla.
