And that's without even getting into the whole second circle pad add on fiasco and the fact that the biggest selling point of the gimmicky hand held burns the eyeballs out of the skulls of children... Who Nintendo markets thier products to the most.

I knew jim sterling would report on this non story. Anything even remotely putting nintendo in a bad light, here we are.
By the way the 3ds is number 1 worldwide now and has been for months.
So obviously whatever they are doing is working. And this holiday they should have the best sellers in each region.
Nintendo has sold the most software and hardware during the holidays for the last 5 years ( Fact) and that usually helps them take the yearly numbers worldwide. It did it for the wii in 2010. And the ds was already number 1 then.

And hearing a lot of you insult the 3ds makes me realise something; how many critics here can tell me exactly what games the 3ds has from launch to new years? The games releasing next spring? Something tells me people haven't been doing their homework.

this is actually insulting. the 3DS is terrible, there absolutely no games worth playing, and remakes are even worse than having nothing because its taking our money for nothing new.

However, I don't think Reggie is to blame for certain issues that people hav with Nintendo. He has to do what he's told by his superiors, and I think that Nintendo has made certain decisions in an attempt to think globally that Reggie and NOA catch all the flack for.

Carleo, it is just speculation on my part, but I have a theory.
Having read alot of comment threads, I noticed something about European wii owners: many own an American wii,instead of a European one. Why? Games and systems in America cost less, even after shipping, and release sooner.
But if you look at Nintendos actions the past 16 months or so, alot of games, including the 3ds itself, have been releasing in Europe before America, sometimes with special bonuses.
And then they also have a couple of big ticket rpgs that they can't import.
I think the European release is a sort of "regional timed exclusive" implemented to maximize profits. And that these games, in order to raise profits further, will release in America afterward. Of course, announcing that these games are coming to America could hurt potential European sales, so NOA says that they have "no plans".
