Red Faction: Guerrilla release date pushed back for PC photo

While PS3 and 360 owners will get to enjoy blowing buildings up within the next couple of weeks, PC owners will sadly have to wait until August 25th to start beating people to death with the Ostrich Hammer. After the release date showed up on Amazon and Gamestop, THQ has confirmed that the PC version of Red Faction: Guerrilla is going to be a 'little late' compared to the console versions, and apparently, to them, a 'little' amount of time is about three months. Sad!

THQ did not give any reason for the delay, but I wouldn't be surprised if it had something to do with problems they were having with the awful Games for Windows Live system that will be shoved into the game.

For all you PC gamers who were planning on picking this up, are you going to wait it out until August? Or will you just suck it up and get one of the console versions?

As a mostly PC gamer, usually I would wait. If you're pretty hardcore about using a mouse to aim and such it's worth the wait for the PC version.

That said, I'm currently in the process of switching over to consoles for most of my gaming, so that's not me anymore.

I'll wait. Simple as that.
And with no consoles its a pretty simple choice.

As long as they take the time to make it stable I'm all for waiting. Wouldn't want to have another disaster like GTA4.

People still play PC games?

Is the Steam version going to be riddled with additional DRM too?!

So much for having a prompt multiplatform release. Frankly, I'm not surprised. I'm almost positive they're delaying it simply to keep the consoles as the major source of revenue to prevent "piracy". When you look at the stability of so many console-to-PC ports, you know damn well that this extra time isn't taken to optimize the performance - just sales figures.

They should just release it on consoles. Apparently 99% of the PC population is playing TF2 anyways!

That depends if they plan to release any mod tools for the PC. If you can put together your own buildings and stick them in this engine...
