THQ has sent out word that the open-world, destruction-fueled Red Faction: Guerrilla will be getting its fair share of downloadable content. Three upcoming packs were announced, but only one of them, "Demons of the Badlands," was detailed.
Heading to Xbox LIVE Marketplace and PlayStation Network on August 13 for 800 Microsoft Points (or $9.99), "Demons of the Badlands" further expands Guerrilla's relatively short (for a sandbox game) single-player experience with an all-new "mission arc" which occurs "outside of the game's expansive world."
No additional details were divulged for the first add-on or the other two, but I wouldn't be surprised if one of the other packs delves into multiplayer territory. It's been no secret that I really enjoyed Guerrilla, so I'll be curious to see where this DLC leads.

"bitches love sandcastles" ... yet, there is no sandcastle in that photo. We may never truly understand his ways.

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
Yes please.
Will post in two months time when Volition again announce that no patches or DLC will ever come to the PC.
I think they've already said that it won't happen, but I'd love to see Wrecking Crew go online.
btw, I'm not opposed to companies making money, I'm just opposed to them doing it this way.
Also, this game is awesome.
I have very little sympathy for you, go play Orange Box and Left 4 Dead or any other PC title with limitless user-created content... TF2 is nearly useless on 360 and is one of the best multiplayer games to date. Not to mention console games run 10-20 dollars more than the same game on PC.
/endangryrant
I realise that often console games are more expensive, however, I believe you misunderstand why the X360 version of TF2 is the way it is.
Namely because Microsoft's cert process for DLC is rather rigourous, and they put a lot of pressure on companies to make you, the consumer, pay for DLC.
Apologies if I am sounding argumentative, however, the point I'm trying to make is that in 99% of cases, a console port of a game that was on the PC will get it's DLC eventually, Valve has already said that they are striving to bring the class updates to the 360, but are struggling due to Microsofts limits. Feel free to chime in with any examples where a Pc to Console port HASN'T gotten DLC or been patched extensively. Esentially, PC to Console games are generally not outsourced, and as such are supported more readily by the developer.
HOWEVER, in the case of Console to PC, or Multiplat titles, the PC version is usually outsourced, maybe patched once for the most pervasive of bugs and then left to rot, with no user-generated content support, DLC, or extras. In this case the PC users, despite paying maybe $10 less at launch have been left with a seriously devalued game, either because it crashes or has no later support. This of course is due to the inital outsourcing, leaving the original developer unable to commit the time or manpower to fixing and maintaining code that they did not write.
A good example is the new 'Prince of Persia', which recieved an 'Epilogue' for consoles, despite being released as a proper (equal content) multiplat title, with respective collector's editions for each platform.
I would like to thank EA for Mirror's Edge, which is the right way to do a PC port, not only improving graphics, but adding in extra PhysX support, and having the DLC available on consoles available to the PC also.

Classy response, my anger is quelled... for now!
I'm still so very bitter about TF2 360 version though. I know they say they're waiting for all the updates at once, but why is burnout paradise allowed to have a free update that adds bikes and TF2 can't even come out with a map pack? And how long has it been since it came out?
Now to make this relavent. RF:G is badass, I'll def pick up the DLC. They've come a looong way since ps2!
I'd like to see a game+ option where you can play the game over with all the weapons you've unlocked available from the get go but with increased difficulty.
Also, larger maps to allow for mechs + vehicles in MP would would make the online even better. Keep the modes without vehicles but add vehicles modes into the rotation. Vehicles would allow for new gametypes. This game has some of the funnest mechs and it isn't even one of the games main bullet points.
Online wrecking crew would be the cherry on top.
