Red Faction: Battlegrounds officially announced photo

Last week we asked the question -- What is Red Faction: Battlegrounds? Well, thanks to THQ revealing it at GDC Europe, we now know. Red Faction: Battlegrounds is a brand new entry in Volition's Mars-based series, and it's coming to XBLA and PlayStation Network.

Battlegrounds looks like an isometric vehicular combat game, with THQ revealing a variety of mechs, tanks and rovers in an arena environment. Up to four players can enjoy the game locally, and the title will unlock items for use in Red Faction: Armageddon.

That's all the relevant information thus far. So now you know what Red Faction: Battlegrounds is!
