Red Faction: Battlegrounds feels like it came out of nowhere, but it's here nonetheless. The new downloadable game is all about 4-player vehicular combat with "fast attack vehicles," tanks, and walkers who fight it out in combat arenas.

Of course Danny Bilson has something to say about it: "For hardcore Red Faction fans to casual racers that just want to blow stuff up, Red Faction: Battlegrounds provides a completely new way to experience the Red Faction universe."

Well, do you want to blow stuff up? Then you can grab Red Faction: Battlegrounds on PlayStation Network right now ($9.99), and laugh in the face of people who have to wait a whole day to download it on Xbox LIVE (800 points). And remember it's free if you have PlayStation Plus! [Actually only if you are a new subscriber, boo!]

If you preorder Red Faction Armageddon from Amazon or Gamestop you get a code to download Battlegrounds for free. Gamestop also give you 'the commando pack' which is an outfit and a couple of weapons.

Store that DON'T give you Battlegrounds for free:

Best Buy has 'the recon pack' which is an outfit and a couple of weapons.
Walmart give you a comic book/player guide.
Toys R Us, Target, Kmart all give you NOTHING if you preorder there.

Damnit, I started using ps3 to not have to pay $50 a year for shit, but then they go and give so much shit back that it ends up making anyone who doesn't get it feel like an ass and cheap. :( I'll get it soon you corporate a-holes. soon.

It's not free. I don't know why the last few articles on here about it haven't bothered to take the ten seconds to read emails or properly steal their information from other sites, but it's only free for new subscribers and they email you a code.
