Anyone else bothered by the fact that publishers are punishing customers for actually *waiting* to see the quality of the product before throwing their money away?
There's a point where this needs to stop and we're well past it.
And since I already have it and Armageddon doesn't look that special so far, it'll be a sale grab for me.
Free game comics are almost always terrible. I got the version of Singularity with the comic (it was cheaper than the one without the comic when Amazon was dumping them) and boy, that comic was a total waste of time.
Getting a free code for Battlegrounds sounds nice though.
I do like the Battlegrounds giveaway bonus. If I decide I'm going to buy this Day 1 why wouldn't I want an extra game technically from the same IP.
You guys are forgetting to take in consideration the folks that use pre-orders as a means to pay for games incrementally, or on conjunction with trade ins to not have to shell out $60. That shit adds up when you have bills and tuition. As far as calling it "punishment" that's just taking it personally for no reason. It's an incentive to get preorders, which are pretty much guaranteed sales. Why is that bad? In a market saturated with sub par games that's being narrated by biased reviews and self entitled fan-boy smearing, it's simple marketing practice, and there's nothing wrong with that.
After the first game, I expected all FPS and shooters to have destructible environs. I am sad to see how that tech was not utilized to it's fullest and still struggles to be implemented in gaming today. The engine used by DICE games is neat, the engine used in the Force Unleashed games looked best. So at least it seems to be coming back, but not quickly enough.
