Well, there is at least one piece of good news for myself: I don't give a shit about any of these characters except Strider. Maybe skipping UMvC3 won't be so bad after all.
The lack of Mega Man or even Mega Man X is absolutely amazing. It's like Capcom is trying to get us to forget why we loved their damn company for so long.

I'm kind of curious to see how Strider will play. I understand why they left him out of Vanilla, it seems like his play style wouldn't be as natural to 3's system as it was to 2. Then again, they made Wolvie from a mediocre mid-to-low tier character into an absolute beast. We shall see.

Damn... no Psylocke, Captin Commando or Gambit? Glad to hear about Virgil and Strider though.... I guess I can still hope for the characters that I mention when UMvC3: AE comes out early next year.
I'm pretty sure this is my residual anger from a cancelled Megaman Legends still talking, but I can't wrap my head around this without feeling a little pain in my gut and a little voice in my head that whispers "spectator mode"...Phoenix Wright is cool though, can't wait to see him in action...after I buy the game used.

Man, Capcom really does listen to the fans. Almost all those characters were requested by my fellow Capcom-Unity Members in polls and forums, excpet the conspicuous example of Megaman, Unfortunately. Just goes to show that this was not planned from the get go. Maybe people will stop complaining. What am I saying? Of course they will.

Yep, I'll be getting this. Vergil, Iron Fist, Ghost Rider, Hawkeye and Dr Strange all look awesome. I don't know too much about the characters but I'm sure they'll be cool too. Looking forward to some gameplay footage of all the newbies.

Looks like I timed my selling of MVC3 a few weeks ago well, managed 27$ from Amazon. Have they mentioned anything at all about added game modes or anything besides spectator mode?
