Look, either you're the type of gamer that already knew what Record of Agarest War was, and that it was coming, or you're the type that doesn't care for this type of game. Wait, what am I saying? Does this game really have a type? In some cases, it goes just beyond classifications. I think Aksys Games says it best:
"This is one of those titles where morbid curiosity really hits you once see some screenshots," states Michael Manzanares, Associate Producer, Aksys Games. "Instead of being nothing but cheesecake, Record of Agarest War turns out to
have some length and girth to it. Color us surprised."
For those not in the know, this is a Japanese strategy role-playing game that spans several in-game generations. It was co-developed by Japanese teams Compile Heart, Red Entertainment and Idea Factory. Those that know their studios know that this is quite the dev combo. Those that know their studios were likely very surprised that this game is coming to the US.
Packed inside is some serious gameplay depth and storytelling (100+ hours of game play), and its all topped off with saucy girls. There's babes, boobs, battle armor, and a Breeding System. Record of Agarest War will be released on the PlayStation Network this Fall. My jam.

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
Err, wait, the game. Breeding system, huh? Like, I'll be able to command people to sexyness and make new soldiers, or what?
I want an army of one eyed hunchback goblins if so...though I'm not sure what genetic hoops I have to jump to make humans into that XP.
Phantasy Star 3 on the Genesis had generations of characters, and it depended upon your choice of mate. Was actually pretty cool in the idea, because you got different main characters on each part of the game in different games.
That's what I think about when I read this. Makes me interested because I can't think of many games that have had a feature like that.
There is also suggestive eating.
It's a PS3 game. Aksys was smart enough to know that this wouldn't have a super-sized retail market, and went D/L-only.
@TheCleaningGuy
At minimum, it'll probably be priced the same as the D/L versions of Warhawk or Burnout Paradise. It's a full retail game in Germany and Japan.
So around $30? That's what I figured. Great!
