Record of Agarest War delayed :( photo

We got all excited when we found out that Aksys Games was prepping saucy stratey RPG Record of Agarest War for a late 2009 release. Well, it's late 2009, and no Agarest War.

Turns out that Aksys has decided to delay the title. Siliconera tells us that an Aksys rep says that we’ll understand why there was a delay when they make an official announcement. More features? Hopefully. We can always wait for that, right? Here's hoping we'll hear the reasons soon.

Also in Aksys news, Battle Fantasia, the deceptively cute PSN brawler, is still on track for release this year, but now probably closer to November or December.

I just got my Collector's Edition copy in the mail yesterday.

Unfortunately, I need an HDTV to play it. SDTV output for the game is PAL, so I'm SOL until I get a new TV. Oh well, nothing like a little fire under my ass to finally motivate me to get an HDTV!

That said, I'm all for this delay.

About an hour ago I started making a list of games this holiday season that I REALLY want and that list is at 6. And it doesn't even include Modern Warfare 2... yet...

So you just keep on keepin' on, Aksys. Make it shine so I can eagerly consume when you say it's ready.

Aksys has a few other games in the pipeline, Dale - one of them for the DSi. Look them up the ESRB site. Do it.

Normally I would make some comment about how Europe hasn't got it, but WAIT WE ALREADY DO! Battle Fantasia as well, now that I think about it. Both retail games, too, so we got the special edition of Agarest with the feelies and stuff.

I should get that for my PS3...when I actually get the PS3.
