When Nintendo announced ExciteBots: Trick Racing for the Wii last week, it didn't say much. What it did say was that it's in the Excite Truck and Excitebike family of games, and that it features mini-games, crazy tricks, and would support the Wii Wheel.
The box art, on the other hand, reveals quite a bit. For one, the game will apparently support Nintendo Wi-Fi, which likely means you'll be racing against other players online. What will you be racing? Well, it looks like ... well ... wait, what the f**k is this? Are those vehicles that look like robotic animals? At the very least, you can spot a lady bug, a turtle, and what appears to be a yellow frog. I've gone blind at this point. You guys see anything else?
The box art also shows the "E for Everyone" rating which conflicts with earlier reports that it would be like Death Race 3000. (Note: No one actually reported that.) The box also says "Wii" on top of it, which confirms what we already know -- you can play the game on the Wii. That also means it will likely be on a DVD, so there's that.
We hope to see and hear more of ExciteBots: Trick Racing soon, because speculating on a game's content based on the box art, while fun, is kind of stupid.

[Update: Nintendo Power has some solid info on the game, which you can check out here, and in the latest issue which hits stands on March 17.]
If it didn't have the Nintendo logo on it I'd have thought it was made by THQ or D3.

But oh well, even if the box art is horrendously kiddy as taken from a Happy Meal, this COULD be fun.
Besides, some of the best racing games have come from Nintendo from Mario Kart and F-Zero to ExciteTruc so there's a chance that this title may be good. On the otherhand, the fact that it has appeared out of no where and we know next to nothing about it isn't exactly a good sign that Nintendo cares about the quality and concept of this particular game.
Prove me wrong, Nintendo. Prove me wrong.
Lack of need for an FX chip obviously tries to hide this fact, with a name change. I'd be surprised if I'm wrong.
If you were going to remix a SNES game, I'd rather see another Vortex game.
About time you tried a real racing game, Nintendo.
No.
Fuck Nintendo.
That's all I have to say.
