Ex-Cerberus? Sold..... Take all my microsoft points and give me as many premium spectres as possible! I always loved Cerberus' armor. Plus lightning whips? awesome. Vorcha? eh I never even really liked Vorcha.
Of course its free, they are making money hand over fist with people buying equipment packs with real money.

The "free" part of this is not quite as straight forward. EA and Bioware want just want to keep people playing multiplayer because of the stupid system of random-item microtransactions (you know, the same ones Japan is cracking down on).
Granted, without the ending shitstorm, this might be even more exploitative by charging for the DLC and maintaining the microtransaction scheme on top of that.
That said, it's more shit for no cost and ME3 multiplayer is pretty fun.

I'm fine about these micro transactions for idiots to spend money on if it means DLC is going to free more often than not. Let them introduce this model into most games I say. I guarantee that enough morons will keep spending enough to keep it going if there is that lure of something new

But in all seriousness this is an obvious olive branch from a company that charged $6 for re-skins last time around. I was a massive fan of the series, I loved the first one and well.... I've blogged that so I won't go into it here. My point is there are likely really only three schools of thought here: Fans that feel burned, fans that are pleased, and those of us that just don't care anymore.
The fiasco this had become made it so toxic even Jim effin' Sterling seemed averse to mention it much.
Bioware is a sock puppet with EA's fat hairy arm firmly rooted in it's nethers. There's no getting past that. Moving on and trying not to screw their customers in their next endeavor seem to me like the smarter idea. Then again, what the hell do I know, I'm just a lowly customer.

Sweet, the ME3 multiplayer is the only thing I play online at the minute that isn't Awesomenauts, and I'm totally fine with their pack model if it means they're making enough money to give the updates for free. Good times, now to get back into those bi-weekly challenges!
Hmm, thanks for the article, Brett, but you did miss a couple of things that other posters haven't mentioned yet. Namely, there are 6 new race/class/ability loadouts in this DLC: 2 ex-Cerberus (Adept &Vanguard), 2 male Quarian (Engineer & Infiltrator), and 2 Vorcha (Sentinel & Soldier).
As an aside, there's been a vocal minority over at the Bioware Social Network that have been griping about the "Phoenix" classes being more "stoopid hoominz" instead of Protheans... as though a bunch of Protheans coming back out of nowhere wouldn't piss all over established lore AND the entire point of the Javik character.

Everyone thought ME3 multiplayer was just another tacked on mode. Turns out that I've spent more time in the multiplayer than the campaign. Bioware is committed to supporting it as well. I can't say I saw that coming.
Ehh, only played the multiplayer so I could get my Galactic Readiness rating up to 100%. Haven't and don't plan to ever touch it again.

i actually just finish Mass Effect 3 just now, and wow i freaking knew they would pull a Gundam 00 Movie/Darker Than Black 2/Evangelion on us.
heck the first two season could very well be like ME1-2(similar to each other as well as sticking to the lore) the 3rd(or movie for Gundam 00) basically pulled 360 degree on us.
though the "theories" in the youtube raises alot of question.
overall ME3 is an awesome game and sorry for going off topic.
i was just excited and pulled an all nighter(it's 5am now)
it's a shame to get the true ending i have to play the multiplayer to boost up the EMS.
still i might finally play Multiplayer portion of it after 3 months now :P
