Here's some off camera footage of Resident Evil: Mercenaries 3D from this year's Wondercon, featuring a currently unannounced character, Ms. Rebecca Chambers. You know what that means, right? We've almost got a full on Resident Evil 1 reunion here. All we need now is Barry Burton, and the whole gang will be back in action, just like they were in Resident Evil 5: Gold Edition. How touching.
This video also shows that the traditional Resident Evil 4/5 over-the-shoulder camera is back as well, even when aiming. When I played the game at PAX East earlier this year, the only option was first person aiming. It was still a lot of fun, but I have to admit, the change-hating, boring old bastard in me is thrilled to play the game with the over-the-shoulder view that I've grown accustomed to over the years.

Wait Mr.Holmes how is this close to a full reunion when Barry, sheva, and excella haven't been announced yet. Those are the main people missuing from RE5 besides the obvious Ada and Leon from RE4.
Also I heard rumors that only 2 more characters were going to be in the game besides what's been announced so far meaning only 1 more character slot would be left. Do you have any info on that.
You guys are forgetting that Wesker has already been confirmed. However, he is not shown in this demo. So chances are that image is him still being blocked out from not being unlocked yet in this demo.
I'm not saying there isn't a chance that Barry could be in it, but keep that in mind.
I love Rebecca but I don't really like Mercenaries. It feels like someone's tried to make a full game of just the bonus stage from Sonic 2 - something like that, anyway. Also, I don't want to suggest that I only play RE for the story (that's only slightly better than playing FIFA for the story) but when the whole game is apparently going to be running around mindlessly and frantically shooting the fuck out of everything before time runs out, it doesn't really matter who you are. They're not characters, they're just weapon load-outs. Still assuming I do ever get it (one way or another), it's good to know she's in it.
Yeah, I kinda like to play resident evil and enjoy its story. It's only problem is it has many games that you have to play to completely understand it. At least it isn't quite as complicated as the kingdom hearts storyline.
Anyway, still waiting on the release date announcements for this and other games. Other than just "summer"
@ Teclo- I hear you, but the game is a lot of fun. To me, Mercenaries is much more like the multi-player of Call of Duty. It's what I play the games for these days.
Just as a Call of Duty fan would likely be happy with an all multi-player spin off on the 3DS, I'm happy with Mercenaries, at least until Revelations comes out.
If things go well, Revelations will bring back the stuff that used to draw me to Resident Evil; atmosphere, tense pacing, and spooky good times.
Am i the only one missing the original mercs? Nikolai, mikhail and Carlos need to be in this, every game needs some vodka drinking russians and a tequila gushing mexican

What's wrong with playing Reaident Evil for the story? It's there, isn't that part of why everyone played RE4
