Is it really dumb though? This kinda thing is acceptable in Japan right? It seems to me like it's more a cultural difference, I mean I doubt we'd see such an advertisement in America, where sensibilities are tighter.

But really, I've been saying for a few years now that SC's emphasis on tits has grown in proportion to how the gameplay has dipped and they surpassed any other game - DOA and even Tomb Raider included - in this regard. And I don't use 'surpassed' in any positive sense. Every fighting game has always had scantily-clad women with giant baps hanging out, but Soul Calibur is the worst offender by quite a long way.
It's an extra shame because SC's women tend to have stronger personalities with better fleshed-out stories and arcs than most other series. They could be easily cast in a positive ligh-NOPE, gotta get their tits out to sell ten more copies.

sure, SC is pretty sexist but i think it's the first time that they used such a direct advertisement, not that jiggly boobs while gaming aren't direct enough
It's for men's sports papers in a country where blatant sexism is the cultural norm and giant tits are unlikely to ever be found so are thus fetishized more than any other female attribute. I think the ad will be quite effective in its target market. I also don't think it was ever designed for us to see.

Here's a interesting statement, considering that women are often treated favorable over men (I speak strictly from the perspective of an American, can't say it's the same elsewhere). I have literally seen sexual predators walk free based exclusively on their gender, and this is by admission of law enforcement and attorney, stating that, and I quote: "had the perpetrator been a male and the victim female, this would be open and shut. Because the perpetrator was a woman and the victim a man, however, I don't see that a jury would rule against the female, even if she's admitted to raping her male victim" which I add was done through coercion.

I hope I'm just taking your statement the wrong way, please correct me if I am, but to imply for even a moment that a country that may incarcerate a man for not registering for selective services but has no similar law against women is somehow devoid of equality for women(I presume you mean inequality against women) is flat out sickening.
Ever see a an adult molested by women during his childhood? They have psychological terms that refer to re-victimization because of the derision he will face at confronting the issue, and MDD along with PTSD are not uncommon issues for people with that kind of history, whereas there are a plethora of organizations dedicating to post trauma recovery and care for women across the country.
Speaking in a strictly gaming context, this is even more ridiculous since women have done a very good job of objectifying themselves (gamecruch, booth babes, cosplay, that porn gamer site run by women, etc, etc...)
